Of all the bands I expected this blog to cover, a second-rate covers band from a washed-up scene, led by a notorious drunk who insults the audience, is not one of those bands.
That being said - They play well, the covers are more than decent, she behaves herself in New York, and except for a insecure nutjobs, the people most thankful to have lost the Detroit scene are the musicians from Detroit, some of whom are decent people.

The Detroit Cobras rule! All hail drunk bitches with guitars! Please post more about their band and the other real rock and roll bands that frequent Maxwell's and Magnetic Field rather than covering boring pretentious dickhead no talents like Patrick Wolf and Dan Deacon. Fuck scenes! Fuck McCarren! Fuck your headband!

The Detroit Cobras rock with more soul than all NY bands combined. Her vocal chops are unmatched, but also Rachael could easily kick the crap out of any male lead singer around too. She doesn't fuck around, and if you have never seen them, you're really missing something much cooler than what you could see in NY on any given night.
