great artists on there, hopefully they sell this out as it's for charity. just because none of these artists wear ironic tshirts or skinny jeans doesnt mean that it can't be an amazing night, some of you really need to get over your pretentiousness.

Interestingly enough next week's NME cover features Aretha in skinny jeans! It's a special fold-out edition.

theres a big difference between having a sense of humor, and wasting everyone's time with idiotic posts. the skinny jeans must be cutting off circulation to the rest of some of your bodies
Posted by mbf | July 26, 2007 12:12 AM
Nah i think its the hipster headband that's cutting their circulation off.
Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2007 1:33 AM
nah it's definitely the hipster headbands that's cutting off their circulation.

I understand these are all legendary artists, but c'mon, who actually wants to see Aretha Franklin these days. Show of hands. Garth Brooks and Queen Latifah?!?!?!?
Who here is willing to shell out $1000 to see this?

"theres a big difference between having a sense of humor, and wasting everyone's time with idiotic posts. the skinny jeans must be cutting off circulation to the rest of some of your bodies"
Wow! You must read really slowly if this is actually wasting your time. Took me about 20 seconds to read the entire page.

OMG! They dont dress like us! They aren't white! They aren't New Yorkers! They're like, old! And they arent ironic and insincere! How hilarious!
Anyone that doesnt realize how much of a genius Stevie Wonder at the very least isnt fit to live as far as I'm concerned.
Posted by Charles | July 26, 2007 9:44 AM
i think charles really hit the nail on the head. and by "hit the nail on the head," i mean i don't know what the fuck he's talking about.
i love stevie wonder ten times better than you charles! and i have on skinny jeans. not really. and i'm black. not really. ok.

"you only wish you could afford these tickets. Id be there for STEVIE ANY DAY!"
You're right. I wish I could afford these tickets so I can spend the money on something else.

"who actually wants to see Aretha Franklin these days."
So true. She is a fantastic singer, but her work from the '80s on just plain sucks.
Besides, the problem with these concerts is that each performers get little time on stage. I would shell out that cash for Stevie, but not to see him sing 4 songs. And I can't stand I-cant-play-chords Santana
Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2007 10:55 AM
I'd love to go to this concert. I can't afford it. Just Stevie Wonder alone is worth it. Look at all that talent on stage ! And at Radio City Music Hall the acoustics are almost perfect ... the best place to see a show with some great artists. Shame there are no tickets selling for under $100 ! Are only the rich deserving of seeing great talent?

Regardless if you like an artist or not, if you are a true music lover, you would be able to appreciate music of all cultures and cross all ethic backgrounds. You have to give credit were credit is due. Many of these people are living legends and icons and their music and style will outlive them for many generations to come. Jimmy Hendrix is a good example. Jimmy has been dead for a long long time and his music and his legacy have and will contine to live on. I don't even like Jimmy Hendrix but I have respect for the man and his music. You have got to give credit were credit is due!!
