NYC Fireworks

Due to the threat of inclement weather, tonight's (July 5) Music at Castle Clinton show featuring Shearwater has been moved indoors to The Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University, Spruce Street entrance.
continued below...

The event will start at its regularly scheduled time of 7PM, but due to indoor capacity restrictions, tickets are limited and will be distributed on a first come-first served bases starting at 5PM at the Schimmel Theater Box Office. Doors open at 6PM.

We deeply regret that mother nature has forced us indoors, but we are thrilled to tell you that the show will go on!

think this will actually sell out? theyre awesome, but are there enough people out there that want to see them?

@Anon 11:36am:

I think you'd be surprised. I think they're one of those bands that more people like than you'd realize. Plus, if this show were still outside, I think it would draw a ton of people simply because it's a free outdoor show.

That said, the additional difficulty of getting down there at (or before 5pm) just to ensure tickets might keep me away even though I love the band.

"Pace University's Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts has been an integral part of the lower Manhattan community for more than 25 years. Its 743-seat theatre — located on Spruce Street between Park Row and Gold Street, near the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge — is the largest in Lower Manhattan."

"Attention New York area people with radios (or maybe conductive metal plates in your heads): Before their free show this evening, Shearwater are swinging by the WNYC studios for a live on air performance at 2:30. That's 2:30 PM on WNYC (FM 93.9) for some live Shearwater. You gotta be tuned to get tunes. "
