if tori amos is playing the THEATRE at msg, why is interpol playing the main room? doesn't make a bit of sense to me...

Probably because last time she played New York, she didn't come close to selling out Jones Beach (Capacity: 15,200). The Theatre (Capacity: 5,600) makes a lot more sense than the Garden itself (Capacity: 20,000+), especially when you take acoustics into account.

Make sense?

if you haven't done it yet...you need to hear Tori's live version of 'Heart of Gold'...this is definitely a band tour and she is rocking out every night!

It's a band tour - drums, bass, guitar

Is she touring with a band or solo? I was at Jones Beach last year and the solo shows are just too slow for me...

whory anus started her sexy US tour in Albany and I heard she seemed sad as the venue was maybe half full. (or half empty as she was seeing it... ::slaps knee::)

10-11 - 07
TORN ANUS @ the WaMulah theatre in I <3 NY town.

She came out as Pip

and did :

CRUEL she fucking opened with cruel can you believe that?!
I also found out her new gay guitarist is HOT, total stud. not too skinny not too chubby
mohawk. gay. yum yum.

during the bridge before she does the keychange with the "I can be cruel!!"
she screamo/sang "you fucked her! you fucked her! I know you fucked her! She was just a little girl!!!!!!!!!!!" it gave everyone chills. literally.

she kept giving us all the finger. she really is something when she's in character for the first set,

Mac Aladdin- the guitarist credited on the last 3 cds and the GHs is really Mark!!
Did you know that!? her hubby is the studio gtr man since steve caton left! like OMG
hahah anyway-

the new fanboy cum tori guitar god then played

Fat Slut and it was orgasmic. Again tori- I mean, pip, was on her knees in her knee high black leather boots. she looked like a mortal kombat character

Smokey Joe rocked

but she wasn't on her hands and knees to swing her head back and forth violently like she was getting plowed in the rear along to the music.

Teenage Hustling

Bliss

waitress (the full hang 10 version! sounded just like it did- scracth that- BETTER than it did in 98!)

COSTUME CHANGE- she came back out as tori... with the red wig
and a sequin frock. She looked like donatella versace and victoria gotti if they mated and the band played a few minutes of remixes while she was gluing hair to her forehead. "you gotta be b- you gotta be b- honey bring it close to my- a honey bring it close to my-"

it was SO FUCKING cool to see a live rock band playing remixes along with prerecorded bits of toris voice. it was awesome - I kinda think they coulda just played a whole show like that and I would have loved it. Toris voice was AMAZING.
matt said last night was the first night of the US tour and it was maybe half sold out so it was really great to see her in NYC rocking the hell out of us all. Her voice... omg.
superb.

Big Wheel - we all clapped along and screamed "M-I-L-F" at her. awesome!

Digital ghost- this SONG ROCKS live. better than on the cd, like a power ballad tori style <3 <3 swoon. when the band kicks in it is just pure power.

Crucify - never heard her play it like this EXACTLY like on the cd.

Cornflake Girl - she must have nightmares of playing the solo in her sleep.
again and again every night for the next 20 years hahaahaha.

when she sang "rabbit- where'd you put the keys girl!?"
I put on my bunny ears. I kept them on for pretty much the rest of the show. the fags behind me kept flicking them because one of them wanted to fuck me. so sweet!

Its ALWAYS proper to bring props along to tori tour!

Bells For Her - she had a toy keyboard setting that made it sound like the broken piano from under he pink. This was a new sound for me and oh so awesome!!

this set was catered for Moi. Of this I am sure.

then the band leaves her for the "T & Bo." portion of the show.

improv song about her 7 year old daughter masturbating on a first class seat on a plane.
you may have seen the similair one on youtube of the silly improv song she sang in Eurpoe where she mouths off about lindsey lohan and paris being 21 and dumb and carrying coke around...

cool on your island - I cheered a little too loud for this and scared the girl in front of me,

cooling (with the FULL bridge she hadn't performed live in 8 YEARS!!)

silent all these years (gave me chills! can you believe it? I heard this song like 22 times live and this was the FIRST time it affected me. Some things get better with age, not tori's gut though she looked pregnant behind her sequins!)

the band returned

she did a scarlet song but I can't recall the name,

Siren. - this was great. like orgasmic. it was a little faster and a little rockier. she NAILED the high parts with her vocals. lovely.

Hotel! HOTEL!!! SHE PLAYED HOTEL! I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER gotten to see this live. I think the very first time I saw her on plugged in 98 at the garden she was supposed to play it and didn't can't quite recall but HOTEL HOTEL HOTEL!!! GIVE ME MORE!!!

Code Red - SUCH AN AWESOME set closer! it's like blood roses or waitress it's got that sick groove - phenominal!)

she got several standing ovations
and I got to scream my highest form of flattery
"don't EVER STOP PLAYING!!!" which I only save for the best of the best shows.
not even billy C has ever earned one of those

encores:

Precious Things

Bouncing Off Clouds (like an updated raspberry swirl live!!)

Hey Jupiter

It doesn't get much better than that.

I dont think she played a SINGLE song from the bee keeper.
More pele/venus would have been nice but we've herd them all a thousand times before - I can't complain anyway this setlist had a really nice flow and I didnt get bored once, as I often do at tori shows when she playes 3 or 4 clunkers in a row (orange knickers anyone?)

what were the other songs... ? the last song? why do I have alzheimers. Matt? Love you matt thanks ;-)
