I wish Richard would come back and play the U.S. already....
On October 2 (in the U.S.) Richard Hawley returns with Lady’s Bridge, his second release on Mute Records (out August 20 in the UK). The new album will build upon the former Pulp guitarist’s catalogue with 11 new songs laced with lush arrangements and his trademark baritone vocals. It follows the widespread praise garnered by Hawley’s last album, the Mercury Prize-nominated Coles Corner (Mute 2005)......For Lady’s Bridge, Hawley is joined by regular band-members John Trier (keyboards), Shez Sheridan (guitar) and Dean Beresford (drums). Bassist and co-producer Colin Elliot also arranged the 16-piece string orchestra on the album’s opener “Valentine.”..........U.S. tour dates will be announced shortly.yay forr U.S. tour dates!

love richard and pulp but wish their were more mentions of his old band LONGPIGS. their first album blows away almost all of the buzz shit from the UK in the past 5 years. you can easily find it in bargain bins or probably for a penny on amazon or ebay. classic stuff.

And the video is directed by the wonderful Shane Meadows. Don't forget to all go out and see his magnificent new film 'This is England'.

I love that first Longpigs album too... but Hawley didn't join the band till the second album.
Can't wait for Lady's Bridge. And another US tour. The video's very Mike Leigh, no?

Oh, and the video was directed by Tom Geens not Shane Meadows... the latter is directing the album's second video, "Serious." More info about this from Hawley himself over my way.

bill p, check your facts. hawley was definitely a member of longpigs on the first album. he even wrote a few bsides that didn't make the record.
