Feist instructs the troops
FEist backstage @ Letterman

One of the indiest shows of the summer is going down at McCarren Pool in Brooklyn tonight (Aug 29, 2007). The weather is beautiful. Feist is headlining, and here's a re-post of something I got back when Grizzly Bear was added to the show:

Please note that doors will now open at 5PM one hour earlier than originally announced to allow for Grizzly Bear’s performance which will begin at 6:15. Also appearing with Feist is Broken Social Scene (performing Kevin Drew's "Spirit If...").
The pics in this post were taken (not by me) backstage at the David Letterman show Monday. More below...

And then there are the ones Rolling Stone posted of the rehearsal earlier in the day, like this one:

i have a feeling people might be expecting broken social scene to actually play broken social scene songs.. we might get a few, but i would expect mostly kevin's new songs.

apparently BSS played "major label debut (fast)" last night in boston.

does anyone know if the show is sold out tonight? and will tickets be available at the door?

Posted by colleen | August 29, 2007 1:42 PM

Sold out and by the number of people trying to buy my one spare ticket on Craigslist (sold for less than I paid for it by the way) there's quite a high demand.

Does anyone know what the deal is with these evening shows at McCarren park? Most importantly, are there food stalls like at the Sunday afternoon shows and what's the curfew time?

Who's excited for tonight's show? Should be a nice late summer night in the pool....By the way, anyone there for Purple Rain last night?

I'm psyched for the "indie guy beard" look to die one day. Seriously, let's move on... it's not ironic anymore. No, really.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 2:19 PM

beards are ironic?

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 2:28 PM

fuck music, let's comment on facial hair!

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 2:36 PM

so...how much is this show?

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 2:40 PM

Tell us to burn our pants!

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 2:43 PM

Agreed, let's talk more about facial hair! Beards + sequined armbands? It's almost too much for my brian to process!
Seriously though, those guys must really really really have wanted to do that show to be seen in that get-up. Ooof! I guess it could have been worse. Maybe tonight they'll have sequined pants!

Does anyone know what time concerts get out at this venue? or around what time feist will go on? never seen a show here.

when did paul shaffer grow hair and join grizzly bear?

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 4:28 PM

There's nothing indie about a bunch of shit bands with publicists. Next...
