little did we know it was going to turn into an all day festival when we bought tickets last month. i hate all day outdoor events. IM CRABBY NOW.

Blonde Redhead is also playing Starland Ballroom NJ.

when the show does finally sold out, it'll be funny to see the explosion of posts on ebay and craigslist, from "fans" who all of a sudden have plans and need to get rid of their tickets.

it won't sell out. randall's has an enormous capacity, and arcade fire are not nearly big enough to sell it out.

what did u think it was just gunna be LCD and Arcade Fire for 2 hours at Randall's Island? u knew from the beginning it was going to be an all day event. Especially for 45 dollars

isn't it nutty that Arcade Fire / LCD is happening, and so is Art Brut / Hold Steady? Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to pair Arcade Fire / Art Brut? Can you imagine how great LCD / Hold Steady would be? The Murphy-Finn rhyme battle would be one for the ages.

so, given 3:30 doors....
somebody please post their guesses at set times...
I got the TEXAS-OU game as a time conflict.

how about a little excitment from the crowd? oct6 is going to be phenom. i, personally, am going to go bananas. if youre not into it, pls stay home.
i love how it's soo cool to hate on bands when they get big...
Posted by vinz | August 22, 2007 4:32 PM
ps - even though no one really hated on them yet...it's bound to happen down the long string of complaining down the comment line.
Posted by vinz | August 22, 2007 4:36 PM
oh what the crap, crabby? if you don't want to go to an all day festival then don't show up until later in the day. you can still get what you want out of the day.
and yes, it will sell out.

Sharon Jones at the Apollo will be soooo much better.
Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 4:47 PM
what time does daft punk go on?
Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 4:49 PM
while it's cool that there's an awesome set of openers, what's the point when only a marginal fraction of the crowd either knows who the bands are or simply care enough to give them the proper attention. arcade fire's fanbase has extended well into the mainstream now, and unfortunately that means they'll be bringing in a certain type of concertgoer.
greats bills sound cool in theory, but are almost always dampended by lack of audience enthusiasm. for many, it makes little difference if it's lcd on stage, or merely a random local act.

is this on sale at mercury lounge?
Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 4:51 PM
The more bands/ longer the party, the better! Just as long as LCD does a full set, I am happy to start the party at 10 AM with a constant line-up of good bands.
It would actually be pretty sweet if they threw in a DJ set or two.... some nice Shit Robot, maybe a surprise Justice appearance...
Any word on a DFA afterparty?
Posted by Murph | August 22, 2007 4:51 PM
are they really on Time Magazine cover?
Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 6:19 PM
Old issue from Canadian version of Time.

"u knew from the beginning it was going to be an all day event."
I agree. I said the same thing when the concert was first announced. You don't have "normal" concerts at Randalls Island; they tend to be all-day affairs. Glad to see something like this put on, but October?

go to the show.
texas will lose as usual.
Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 10:26 PM
the arcade fire had better do a canadian tour...or i will kick them in the nads.

That's the right link for Wild Light- http://www.myspace.com/wildlight
They're a Boston band and they're amazing.
This is going to be a hell of a show!

i kind of wish it was white flight instead of wild light. similar name, so different music. and yes, white flight is 174 times better.
Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2007 12:34 AM
i'm fucking excited to see this show.

Fucking Christ, college football? Are you a Neanderthal or a Cro-Magnon?
Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2007 1:48 AM
it is possible to like football and like music at the same time

Good luck with that one-sided, blind elitism.
Remember that time someone called you a fag because of your tastes? Yeah. You're doing the exact same thing.

Go ahead and root for the future Michael Vicks of the world, assholes.

how gay are you?

Here's a guess from past experience (the order of first three bands is interchangeable, but this is probably it):
Doors open at 3:30
Wild Light 4:30 - 5:00
Les Savy Fav 5:15 - 6:00
Blonde Redhead 6:15 - 7:00
LCD Soundsystem 7:30 - 8:30
Arcade Fire 9 - ?

RE: "Fucking Christ, college football? Are you a Neanderthal or a Cro-Magnon?"
Sounds like someone's still a little bitter he didn't make the cut in high school...so sad. get over you hipster putz. it's people like you that made it cool to suck at everything, have a pathetic job, etc. as long as you have something snooty to say abt music.
bottom line, get a life.
