The press release said September 8th. New single is pretty good, even if the beginning does sound suspiciously like Tommy Tutone.

Stop the false idol worship. This single is ripped off from Tommy Tutone. Is this really the best Bruce can do anymore? Sad.

he did Rosalita at every show on last E Street tour. I doubt he will make it a show stopper again..
Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 10:42 PM
Oh, and I also think he will wait to add shows over the summer when he does his 7 nights at Giants Stadium...

This new single is a perfect example of why everyone should try to see him live. It's good enough catchy song, but it will sound awesome live. you've got to see him to know, it's that simple. that's why he's so huge locally and his popularity thins the further you get from nj. the more likely you are to see the e street band play for their fans, the more likely you are to join the club.

And the ones who bled an ocean had a notion deep inside
that it ain't no sin to be glad yer alive
I wanna find one face that ain't lookin through me
I wanna find one place
I want to spit in the face of

I like how everyone ever who has ever snidely made fun of bruce's lyrics quotes those lines from born to run. Now I am not saying the man is John Ashbery, but if you took a second to understand that song you would understand how that line is meant to be a bit ridiculous, its slightly ironic exageration used to develop the character Bruce creates in the song...e.i. a young person, who is finding escape from his own suburban alienation in the worship of cars, sex, and adventure, but the irony of the song is that Bruce undercuts (by cheesy exagerated lyrics) the speakers desire by pointing to a) his fetishizing of non-sexual objects in sex symbols, b) the overall desperation of his attempts, and c) the emptiness of the world he inhabits. The whole dynamic of the song is desperate exageration. If you had any feeling for poetry or music that is as obvious as the phil spector quoting overblown production. Gah!
