they got big so quickly. i saw them last summer coheadlining for sound team in dc at black cat (not the mainstage even which is like bowery...but the "backstage" there which holds like 150 people). Now they're headlining 930 club (webster hall equivalent for you NYers) two nights...crazy. i didnt even know who they were before that show (i went for sound team).

They will go away just as fast as they "got big".

dammit why does it have to be Webster Hall when it's a band I really want to see?

also on the white stripes/cold war kids tour for a few dates, i believe, is derrick brown. he's a spoken word performer, and he's wonderful...brownpoetry.com. (i'm not derrick).

That chicken guy was all over the place at Lollapalooza. Apparently last year he brought a rake(!?) It's his schtick to get called out by the performers on stage. It works like a charm, FWIW.

Whatever happened to the Winnie The Pooh dude that was at shows?

CWK won't be at terminal 5 because Ween is playing both nites there.

Ween is playing both of those nights at terminal 5 and it will be a lot more rockin than at webster hall - nothing against CWK but live Ween is amazing.

The sound for CWK at Lollapalooza was absolutely horrendous. They got totally screwed over being put on that small stage. I felt bad for them.
That St. John encore at Bowery -- the one with all those heads on stage playing percussion -- was one of the most memorable concert moments of the past few years for me.

I've seen them a little much in the past year (opening for Sound Team at Maxwell's, Union Hall, Bowery Ballroom, opening for Muse at Festival Pier) but I'll go to this if the openers are as good as the last headlining tour.

any idea on how much or openers?
