Harry Potter says listen to Sigur Rós while reading Harry Potter (else, Art Brut)

Harry Potter and Sigur Ros

EW: What did you do when you finished reading Deathly Hallows?

Daniel Radcliffe: I was in a car at the time. I had my iPod in, and I was listening to Sigur Rós. I don't know if you know them. They're a band who do sort of instrumental music, but it's just amazing. I think they're from Scandinavia somewhere. They've got an album called Takk...I was listening to, and it's very, very appropriate [for the end of Deathly Hallows]. I was listening to it and I remember I was sort of turned away from everybody else in the car, just so I could be in my own little world when I read it. What did I do when I finished? I think I just put the book down and carried on listening to the music. Just looked out of the car window, 'cause I couldn't think of what else to do. I'm still struggling to really take it in. It doesn't leave you in a hurry [EW.com] (thx Jeff)

WARNING - traumatizing spoilers may be contained behind above EW.com link (may also be contained on t-shirts).

Harry Potter also likes The Hold Steady, and Art Brut:

Harry Potter and ARt Brut"Very very cool...the most entertaining [band]...they're great" - Daniel Radcliffe on Art Brut, to Conan O'Brien

Whether Feist will be reading Harry Potter at the 826NYC benefit is still unknown, though some of you were definitely spotted reading it at the 2007 Village Voice Siren Festival. Photos of Art Brut playing the 2006 Siren Festival, HERE. Some recent Sigur Ros & Iceland news, HERE.

This is weird. I finished the Deathly Hallows last night, all but the last chapter, which I am saving for tonight.

Anyway, I was pretty overwhelmed, and went to bed, with my headphones on. I needed the perfect thing to listen to.

I picked Takk.......

"I don't know if you know them. They're a band who do sort of instrumental music, but it's just amazing. I think they're from Scandinavia somewhere."

at first i rolled my eyes at this, but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was dumbing it down for the average EW reader.

i finished the book last night after going to see the frequency at the mercury lounge. i ran home-packed for lollapalooza and settled down for the last few chapters. it is such a beautiful book and ending. almost so much that i think listening to music might ruin it. i hope everyone enjoys it!

i can't listen to music with lyrics and read at the same time. each distracts from the other. sigur ros aren't "sort of instrumental" enough for me to be able to read to them.

Sigur who? Daniel Radcliffe loves horses!

Any music where the lyrics are sung in a language I cannot speak is close enough to instrumental for me to read to it.

I still chose to finish the Deathly Hallows in perfect silence.
