Herman Dune tonight in Brooklyn & a VIDEO

Herman Dune

Thanks for the reminder. I meant to post about this a while ago. Herman Dune is playing at Union Hall in Brooklyn tonight (Aug 30). Check out the video below....

Herman Dune 'I Wish That I Could See You Soon'

Herman Düne is a French Anti-folk band, formed in 1999. The band consists of André Herman Düne (guitars and vocals), David-Ivar Herman Düne (guitars and vocals) and Neman Herman Düne (drums and sometimes backing vocals). Néman, who is from Switzerland, replaced former drummer Omé in early 2001. On December 13th, 2006, André Herman Düne played his last show with the band, and subsequently changed his name to Stanley Brinks.

Some of Herman Düne's influences include: Daniel Johnston, Lou Barlow, The Mountain Goats, Cat Power and Silver Jews. [Wikipedia]

Herman Dune are amazing,
one of my favorite bands,
and totally unknown in the US,
(big'ish in France and the UK)
I'm shocked to see them featured so prominently on Brooklyn Vegan,
that's awesome.

I find it hilarious that even though they're totally unknown in the states, on Brooklyn Vegan they already have an asshole hating on them.
BV brings out the best in folks.

Albums you have to get
Switzerland Heritage (2001?)
Mas Cambios (Track and Field-UK)
Not on Top (http://www.trackandfield.org.uk)

solo albums
David Ya Ya (self titled)
Nova scotia (SmokingGunRecords.com)

Show at Union was fantastic. Judging the band by how silly this music video is is pretty dumb of you, they've been putting out quality folk rock n roll albums for years. They're also playing Cake Shop and Goodbye Blue Monday.

isnt that wikipedia info all a joke? I thought he was from Brooklyn.

They like Brooklyn, so they hang out there 1-2 times a year. You know, you like Chicago, so you go and hang out there or San Fran.
They also recorded Mas Cambios in Brooklyn
