Juiced Elfers = Nick "Diamonds" Thorburn (Unicorns, Islands)
"Nicholas Thorburn (born November 27, 1981) is a Canadian musician who has fronted The Unicorns, Th' Corn Gangg, and Islands. His stage name was Nick Diamonds, but he recently reverted to his birth name." [Wikipedia]
His newest project is called Juiced Elfers, and the only other thing I can tell you about it is that they're playing Mercury Lounge in NYC on Thursday August 23rd @ 7pm - right before a Metric-side project (no advanced tix). I can also tell you that his other band Islands have new recordS in the works, and are confirmed to play CMJ.

unicorns are possibly the worst band ever...islands are terrible, saved only by the fact that Jim Guthrie often performs with them.
i would attend every date of the Rembrands reunion tour before I payed to see either of his shitty bands.

I _hated_ "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone" when I first heard it. Seriously hated it. But then the Islands came out, and I loved the album, and so I went back to "Who Will Cut..." and found that, somehow, now I loved that album too.
I don't understand this.
And I don't mean to say that if you didn't love the album, that you're somehow stupid. But I gave it a chance and it grew on me quite a bit.

the Unicorns Were innovative. they made it cool to be able to like pastel colours and still hug teddy bears.
who will cut our hair was in the top 5 albums that year.
was gutted when they split, never really heard much from th' corn gang tho, but islands are great. saw them last night in nottingham UK they were great but seemed to be having problems and the crowd were mostly pissed up student cunts.
cant wait for the new album, the arm, is a real grower.
