Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week
Sing your children (or yourself) to sleep with the new Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of the Rolling Stones. Of the releases I have already sampled, I can strongly recommend Linda Thompson's Versatile Heart, Nina Nastasia & Jim White's You Follow Me, and Erik Friedlander's Block Ice & Propane is one of the best albums I have heard all year - an intriguing contemporary jazz album from an artist who has been featured on recent albums by the Mountain Goats and John Vanderslice. You can also order the MP3's directly from his site for just $9.95.
The only reissue worth mentioning is singer-songwriter Sam Baker's mercy.
Oh, and according to a friend's ten year-old daughter, Disney's High School Musical 2 is the only album worth buying this week, perhaps this year.
Have I left anything noteworthy off the list? What new music releases can you recommend this week?
editor's note: I added this pic here. Rock on.

Oh, dear Lord! I don't know if this was released yesterday, but on AOL Music's Full CD Listening Party there's a Dean Martin compilation which has tracks to which current musicians contributed, à la Natalie Cole singing along with her father on "Unforgettable."
I'm listening to the new Eisley album for the second time and it has its charm.
