Is it possible to get into individual shows or do you need to buy a pass for the whole thing?

Yes - you can buy individual show tickets.

dude, nearly all shows are available to the public via tickets...they split the door...for badge holders and ticket holders.

welcome to indie rock.

"Is it possible to get into individual shows or do you need to buy a pass for the whole thing?"

Only certain shows, like the opening night fest, require a CMJ badge, all other shows have regular tickets. In fact, a CMJ badge is a waste since it does not guarantee admission. Don't bother with the pass.

M.I.A. is sold out. WTF.

Posted by Eduardo | August 29, 2007 10:43 AM

aw you shouldn't have told him that! I wanted to see him end up spending upwards of $800 just to see his favorite band Mute Math

Anyone have the Ticketmaster password for Rodrigo Y Gabriela?

Posted by Robert | August 29, 2007 10:48 AM

snooze and lose, my man

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 10:48 AM

aw, why did you guys have to tell anon@10:29 that? I wanted to see him spend upwards of $600.00 in concert tickets just to see his favorite band Mute Math

It's annoying that Foreign Islands are from this country and regular Islands are from Canada.

Posted by Sam | August 29, 2007 10:49 AM

mute math are supposed to be the shit live. anyone seen them before?

Eduardo, that must've happened just recently.

The next night, Justice is playing at Terminal 5... I think tix are still available for that one!

Where/when is Vampire Weekend playing during CMJ?

Posted by !!! | August 29, 2007 12:02 PM

Anyone have an idea what time The Meat Puppetts (and for that matter The Only Children) might go on tonight? I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to get from the Feist show over to the Knitting Factory to see both bands.

Posted by mp77 | August 29, 2007 12:08 PM

I have to agree I'm not very interested in any of the bands playing CMJ this year at all so far.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 12:48 PM

What a shock that a magazine as lively and widely-read as CMJ would put on a shitty festival.

Posted by chris | August 29, 2007 1:16 PM

I'm excited for AIDS Wolf...crossing my fingers for no border-crossing troubles for them...

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2007 1:34 PM

Sub Pop showcase looking very very weak this year. I never thought I would say this, but I think I will skip it. Band of Horses are great, but I would rather see them without the hassle. The Brunettes are too twee & hokey although they may put on a good show.

this hardly makes the terrible any better. CMJ what has happened to you? its so sad to watch the only festival that takes place in new york dissolve into sludge.

Anyone have any information on Rock Plaza Central and Islands shows? Can't find listings anywhere?
