The pre-sale started at noon. The email went out to the Fake Headlines email list yesterday. There should be some tickets on Ticketmaster tomorrow. Here's the copy from the email:

For you NEW YORKERS (or anyone willing to travel to New York),
We have confirmed to play a small show at New York's Bowery Ballroom (one of our favorite venues) as a special gathering just for our friends and family. The show will be on the US release date of August 21st. Please try to keep this under wraps, since there will not be any advertising for this show at all and we'd like for it not to be mobbed out.

Being the elite of our fans we have set aside an extremely limited amount of these tickets available to you first through our ticketing site.

Unfortunately it is a first come first serve basis. If you do not get a ticket through our ticketing site on Tuesday, another round of tickets will be made available on Wednesday through ticketmaster for a limited time only (probably 2 days and again unannounced, so if you don't know to look for it, you won't find it). These tickets will unfortunately be a bit more because of the service fees.

This should be a really special show for us, so we would love for you to be there.

Anyone else do the Buy Early Get Now and starting to feel ripped off? If these tickets were available at noon, I shouldn't have gotten an e-mail sent at 3:26! Also... iTunes has 2 b-sides that haven't been released to BEGN. One of the b-sides claims to be exclusive to iTunes. Funny, I thought I paid for every single Challengers b-side and ADVANCE special ticket offers.

Re: Buy Early Get Now... our ISP had a server glitch today that prevented the tickets email going out at noon... our apologies!

You WILL get the iTunes B-sides... and every single other B-side released in any format. They will arrive with all the other B-sides for you to burn on the second disc of the box... you do get it all (though not necessarily immediately). Unfortunately exclusives are the price of getting any visibility on the iTunes Store, which in turn is the only way to sell tracks and albums there.

While we're on the subject... I'm on the Fake Headlines e-mail list and I haven't yet gotten this e-mail. In fact, I got another recent message from the list THREE DAYS after the date on it.

Oh, and I bet Neko will be at the Bowery show because the last date on her current tour schedule is Sat. Aug. 18 at the Download Festival Boston.

As much as I love this site for updating me on the latest shows, I agree with Anon 5:34. Giving out the details of presales seems to defeat the purpose of letting fans get tickets first.

I know the majority of the people at the Interpol Bowery show got tickets only because it was announced on BV. I am a huge fan of the band and was just plain unlucky in obtaining tickets. Instead I had to buy off craigslist.

I'm not saying whether it's good or bad to give away passwords, but it seems to me that it's like a competitive sport to get tickets to shows these days.

dont get so stressed about it, they just do it to drum up the demand. these presales sell out but the show itself will not sell out fast, mark my words. and anyway, why be stressed if that fails you still have 2 webster hall shows which are not sold out. no big deal.

What? The show won't sell out fast? This is Bowery Ballroom, everything there sells out fast unless it's unbearably shitty. If there's a market for it, Bowery sells it out fast because it's small, awesome and cheap. Webster is none of those.
