No Age - MP3s & 2007 Tour Dates (CMJ)

After getting numerous recommendations to check out California's No Age, I finally did, and so far I like what I hear. Further research revealed that Stereogum, Pitchfork, Crackers United, and Deerhunter all like them too.
No Age are Dean Spunt and Randy Randall, two young heavyweights from the LA skate/art/punk underworld - a super-talented noise pop two-piece, who decided to put out five limited vinyl-only releases via a variety of DIY indie labels across the globe (namely UTR, Deleted Art, Teardrops, Youth Attack, and Dean's own PPM label). In August, FatCat will release Weirdo Rippers, a collection of highlights from these releases. Despite its multiple sources, the tracklisting for Weirdo Rippers follows a narrative of its own, with the songs traversing a wealth of sonic territory, ultimately cohering effectively as an album.The album is out August 28th on Fat Cat. Their last NYC shows were in June (one for Todd P @ Silent Barn, and another at a movie screening in Manhattan). I'm hoping to catch them for the first time at CMJ. All tour dates below....

These guys were amazing at that film screening. I'm hoping to check them out again very soon. Also Dean Spunt and Randy Randall are probably the best rock names around this side of Jay Reatard.
