Ozzfest 2007 - Hartford, CT (CRED)
Ozzfest

Two men died and 83 people were arrested on Thursday at the Ozzfest concert in Holmdel, N.J., as the New Jersey State Police have stepped up security at the PNC Bank Arts Center to combat under-age drinking.

Raymond Guarino, 26, of Forked River, N.J., and Patrick Norris, 24, of Coram, N.Y., collapsed at the concert and both suffered cardiac arrest. They were pronounced dead at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. Friends of the men said that they had taken cocaine, marijuana and alcohol, said Sgt. Stephen Jones, a police spokesman.

The police have made a total of 229 arrests at concerts at the center over the last week, including Ozzfest. [NY Times]

In Illinois a man was killed by a truck, and in Indiana a 15 year old girl died on her way to see Ozzy.

Well, at least now those two guys will never end up like Ozzy.

they both died. sounds like they got some bad shit

How bad can I really really feel for people who do both cocaine and alcohol and die? That's sort of a risk you take. Condolences to the families, and that is simply too young to die, but still, come on.

Crowds at show like Ozzfest scare the living shit out of me. Numbskull, macho, violent, scary people. even the women

Thats what happens when you give every half retarded metal fan in NJ a free ticket to the scummiest show of the year.

all of those arrests are even more a reason we should cut new jersey into atlantic and let it sink down to the bottom, never to resurface.

Posted by mat | August 20, 2007 4:41 PM

whats wrong with jersey? just because a bunch of under age kids get arrested for drinking on a state police run facility, we should sink into the atlantic ocean?

ok, now i just hope they crack down on drinking in the giant stadium parking lot before the jets and giants games(sarcasm). its pretty fucking hypocritical if you ask me, if you ever been to a football game you know 95 percent of people there are fully loaded. yet i dont hear of people getting arrested or cited or anything.

1. 95 percent of them aren't underage. 2. the medowlands complex isn't on a state police barracks 3. state police don't do security at the medowlands.

its a trashy ass festival and its free...what do you expect?

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2007 5:29 PM

New Jersey rules. Call it trashy all you want, but across the board it's wealthier than any other state.

Cocaine, marijuana AND alcohol??? With that combination of uppers/downers, if they actually survived they would have felt like shit.

the allmans and Ratdog will be a completly diff. scene. but i wouldn't expecpt NO2 tanks and ballons in parking lot either, deer creek it aint, but its not china either. Inside is all private security with a big beer garden, just keep low in the lot.

as for the jersey bs, come on, people are skanky all over the country.

River people! Go!

well, im just saying its selective enforcement. if they banned alcohol at pnc center, why dont they ban alcohol in the giants stadium parking lot? its ridiculous, the message is we dont like you and we can fuck with you because we can.

and for the record, my personal position is alcohol consumption should be legal anywhere, anytime. go after intoxication, not consumption.
