PJ Harvey"The no-nonsense rocker (who trades the rock for the gossamer on her new disc, out September 25 Stateside via Island, and the day before UK-ways) has announced a pair of solo U.S. shows in mid-October. And the lucky two American cities? No surprise here: New York and L.A." [Pitchfork]

"The album, produced by Polly, Flood & John Parish, will be titled White Chalk and features musical contributions from long time associate, Eric Drew Feldman, and also Jim White of the Dirty Three." That's the same Jim White who is touring with Nina Nastasia.

The NYC PJ Harvey show is October 10th @ the Beacon Theatre. The LA show is at the Orpheum. The LA show is already on ticketmaster. The NYC show isn't. Tour dates below...

sweet! hopefully it isn't insanely expensive, like everything else at the beacon.

you mean $25 dollars expensive?

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2007 1:08 PM

for me, and those of us who aren't i-bankers, yes, $25 is expensive

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2007 1:19 PM

$25 for PJ Harvey would be a great deal!

Posted by Anonymous | August 31, 2007 2:22 PM

I was hoping for under $40. I seriously doubt it will be as cheap as $25.

Posted by rocked the shit | August 31, 2007 2:38 PM

What?! I'm not an investment banker & I think $25 is a fucking bargain for concert tickets! ESPECIALLY for PJ Harvey!

As per a press release: "Tickets for both shows go on-sale on Friday September 7th."

Price is one thing to worry about. Availability is another. Last time she played the Knitting Factory in L.A., tickets seemed to already be gone before they were even available. Word had it that industry people and other big names snatched everything up.

I paid $25 to see PJ at Hammerstein years ago. I too doubt it will be that cheap this time. Especially considering that her US tour is only two shows at this point.

I've never been to Knitting Factory in LA... but my guess is that it's a LOT smaller than the Beacon.

I did, however, see PJ Harvey at Knitting Factory in NY just before "Stories from the City..." came out, and she was amazing... as was the show at Hammerstein a few years back.

OMG Thank you for coming to New York!!! Ahhh!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2007 3:57 PM

The tickets for the LA show are $47.50-$53. I'd assume the NYC tix will be same price or higher.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2007 5:38 PM

The prices sound fairly equivalent to what they would be here, but only two dates? What if you live in Nebraska?

Polly Jean Harvey onstage is a bargain @ any price! The shows @ the Hamerstein-NYC reconfirm by belief in the power of the rock-n-roll animus. Can't wait!

I can't believe how cheap and lazy you people are. A quick jaunt over to Ticketmaster reveals that tickets will range in price from $47 to $53.

it was not on ticketmaster a couple of days ago.

150 bucks for two tickets. Christ. But I'm Row N on the floor and the floor's already sold out so I guess I'm lucky.
