This was really just going to be a QOTSA post, but then I saw this picture and realized it would be a good place to put the latest Foo Fighers (who recently covered Arcade Fire) news too..

Josh Homme & Dave Grohl

First the latest controversy....

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE rocker JOSH HOMME has struck the latest blow in his battle with SHARON OSBOURNE - dubbing her a musical nobody. The rift began when Homme accused Sharon and her husband Ozzy Osbourne of treating bands like "s**t" at their annual Ozzfest festival. Sharon hit back saying she hoped Homme "gets syphilis and dies". Now Homme says, "I don't know what she is or what she's done. Has she ever made any music? No. I don't know why her name is Sharon. She ain't sharin' anything." [Contact Music]
Tickets go on pre-sale (Password: SICK) in the morning for a bunch of Queens of the Stone Age shows, including one at the WaMu Theater At Madison Square Garden in NYC on October 13th.

Foo Fighters have a new album coming out, and they're promising that you can be first to get concert tickets if you pre-order on iTunes. They're also promising a NYC show.

What presale are you talking about here BV? the one called Internet presale or the FUSE presale? Anyway I know the presale today 8/23 has password BAVULTURES. $40+fees is too expensive for QoTSA.

she ain't sharing anything... ha, that's rich.

QOTSA haven't been worth seeing live since Nick was fired. The band of replacements Homme has put together can't hold a candle to what this band was back in '02/'03.

Asbury Park Convention Center in March '03 w/ Turbonegro and Rye Coalition was awesome. They've gotten progressively worse each time I've seen them since, Webster Hall on the Lullabies tour and opening for NIN at MSG in '05.

I'll pass.

The internet presale password is definitely SICK. I got a ticket with it.

Biffy Clyro is opening for QOTSA. I'm psyched to see them again after the editors tour.

Posted by cbass | August 23, 2007 10:12 AM

that's awesome for biffy clyro, but i only saw they confirmed 3 dates and none of them nyc,, so far i hope.

seeing them open up for the editors and then leaving like most people should.

For some reason I cannot use this code for Level 100 tix for NYC. Does anyone know the code for the Fuse presale?

Posted by D | August 23, 2007 11:13 AM

convention hall was a sick show

yes I got two floor seat tickets for QOTSA at the garden theater(I bought them at 10:04 am, they went on sale at 10 am this morning), this is a much better live show then the lullabies to paralyze era, EV is their most critically acclaimed album ever, what the hell is the fuse presale ppl r talking about though

Posted by steve | August 23, 2007 11:13 PM

the new one may be "critically acclaimed", but it's nowhere near the calibur of the first two, and it can't even come close to the brilliance of Songs for the Deaf. Modern QOTSA is nothing more than a souped up version of Eagles of Death Metal without the tongue in cheek homor. Which is what makes EoDM so fun to begin with

Posted by FRX | August 24, 2007 1:03 AM

BV, thank you for not calling them THE Foo Fighters!

Double thanks! Finally got my GA tix.

I saw QOTSA last nigth at the Wamu Theatre and they were f*****g AWESOME! OK. The naked x-Dwarfs Nick ain't with 'em, but they still rock and, ultimately, QOTSA IS Josh Homme. So deal with it. I can't wait to see them on the Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Holiday Special in December on The Travel Channel, btw. Josh (and Tony) are f*****g hiiiilarious!
