The Cribs have added a 2nd NYC show at Union Pool in Brooklyn on August 12th, and their Manhattan show at Bowery Ballroom on August 9th is still not sold out. Tickets for both shows available @ Ticketmaster, but keep in mind that the much-buzzed about White Rabbits (not to mention Foreign Islands) are opening the Bowery Show, and Right on Dynamite is the opener for Union Pool.

Does anyone know if the Cribs put on a good show?

I recently bought their new album and think it's pretty decent. I'm considering going to their show, but some feedback might sway me one way or the other...

i saw the cribs last year at siren fest. they have that im a criminal/alcoholic/drug addict attitude. they come off as real big time jerks. if you saw the episode of ny noise about the fest you know what im talking about. i would not give this band my money.

The Cribs are one the best live bands in the UK at the moment. They don't have an "im a criminal/alcoholic/drug addict attitude" atall. Granted, they aren't the greatest festival band, but they are much, much better than the competition when they are headlining shows. If you enjoy the music on their CDs then you definitely won't be disappointed with their live performance.

Thanks! I did see the Siren Fest '06 NY Noise episode, but I don't remember the Cribs performance off the top of my head.

The Cribs are getting positive reviews and hyped across the pond, but more times than not (at least lately, for me) the English 'buzz bands' have been a let down.

ok i will put an asterix on my comment. thats the way i remember it and i dont write everything down, so there is a slight chance (about 1 percent) that it was another band that im thinking of. I think Shirly Braha from NY Noise could answer this question since i think it was her doing the interviews for the show.

I think "one the best live bands in the UK at the moment" is a bit of an exaggeration, but they're definitely a good time; nyc noise fan may be confusing them with another band.

The Cribs always put on a good show. Here's a writeup from their Mercury Lounge show in May:

oh yeah sorry i think i confused them with Art Brut, sorrry, nvm....

j/k - great band, go see them live by all means. do not go to see muse however, they truly do suck.

However, be prepared to pay around $6 in handling fees, depending on the number of tickets, per ticket for each $15 ticket at Union Pool. Does anyone know if you can buy advance tickets at the door?

Saw The Cribs on the Craig Ferguson show a couple of weeks ago. They were added to my "Do-not-see" just 30 seconds into their number.

Will the naked girl be on stage with them?

They're definitely one of those bands that are best seen in sweaty clubs. I think Union Pool will be a good setting for them.

Although I love the Bowery Ballroom - I can't picture bands like The Cribs and The Black Lips playing there. It seems like the classiness of the place would be detrimental to their performance.

You can get adv tix without the service charge at the bowery presents box office @ mercury lounge - just got mine.

i want to go but then i don't want to go. i think they're overated in an underrated way...like. idk, like how they're not famous but every band seems to say ' the cribs, most underrated band in the uk, they're brilliant' like i think they're good, but not as good as ricky wilson and everyone else (even more with this record)thinks they are you know? but i think they'll be fun live, i wanted to see them when they toured the last album with kaiser chiefs, but that didn't happen. this probably won't happen either come to think of it. i get tired just thinking about going.

Cribs are awesome. The show at Union Pool is gonna be so good, especially that the opneing band is just as good as them!
Check out Right on Dynamite

WHY ARE THERE NO PICTURES FROM SPOON?! THey were only like the best ones there.

Saw White Rabbits and The Cribs in Chicago this past weekend - White Rabbits BLEW them out of the water. I imagine tonight's show will be the same. Cribs would have trouble holding their own at a high school battle of the bands.

I caught a couple songs of White Rabbits when they opened for Art Brut at the Highline and they impressed me so much I wanted to see them again and catch their whole set this time. Cant wait to see them at the Bowery tonight.

Anyone know set times for them?

Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2007 10:48 AM

white rabbits go on at 10pm

Whoa, nice to see my pictures up here.

By the way, there's no Spoon photos, because I was waaaay too exhausted after the Against Me! pit.
