been wanting to see these guys for a long time. i hope they can deliver as much as daft punk.

just a strange hunch...they wont deliver as much.

Good luck with that, Anonymous...I saw them back in their heyday (supporting the release of 'Dig Your Own Hole') in Dallas, and they just stood behind their equipment twiddling knobs. While the sound was great and the atmosphere was communal (in that late-90's cuddle puddle kind of way), I do not think it would hold a candle to the jaw-dropping experience of Daft Punk's current A/V spectacle...

I'm in the same pickle. I saw Daft Punk last week and I don't want to be let down.

I've always heard great things about them live though.

well. the music is more important to me than the visuals. i'll be stoked if they have an amazing visual display but that doesn't matter as much if i'm dancing my ass off.

i've seen them many, many times in a lot of different places. while they don't quite have the force of our favorite robot rockers, they have delivered every time.

i don't expect them to as i've seen them so many times, but each time they have not let me down.

No you haven't.

"and they just stood behind their equipment twiddling knobs."

what do u think daft punk does?!

that picture looks like two penises rubbing together

I've seen the Chems quite a few times. I feel they have always delivered. The visuals are really good...not as much neon stuff as Daft Punk, but more trippy, crazy stuff - a billion little eyeballs blinking at you, silhouettes of donkeys kicking, dudes running, birds flying everywhere. Their set from Coachella a couple of years ago that's floating around is a good indication of what to expect. I liked all of their shows better than Daft Punk last week, but that's just me.

they do the same thing with their music that daft punk does, mixing in bits and pieces of all of their material into all of their songs, teasing you as their set rolls along.

re: "and they just stood behind their equipment twiddling knobs" - newsflash...they are DJ's / producers...what do you expect them to do? this ain't a rock show...

Man, i too saw the Chems in Dallas back in the day. Used to love them but thier sound has not aged well. The Salmon Dance is the most irritating single since Mambo #5...and yeah, after the Daft Punk gig why should I bother going to any other dance gigs.

Chemical Brothers have announced a Denver date, 9/26. In surprising news, I got a 'combo' ticket which covers the 9/11 Underworld show @ red rocks AND the chemical brothers show. It was $50 (even, since I bought @ the fillmore box office). If anyone's been considering either show, get the combo ticket.

saw the show last night. i was unimpressed. i've seen them many, many times and they have always delivered a great show. usually their shows are very different from each other, but they have always been good.

last night...not the case. while the vibe was good and the lightshow excellent, the music fell flat. i think they even did a "medley" of some of their older hits towards the end.
