VHS or BetaVHS or Beta and Walter Meego have two upcoming NYC shows. One is at Bowery Ballroom on Wednesday (Aug 29), and the other is the next day at Studio B in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn one is free if you RSVP. The Manhattan one is not free, but if you email BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: VHS), and tell me you want to go, I do have a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky random winner.

why did you say 'bad?'

seems a bit harsh for a person with influence to pass such harsh judgment on someone's art in such an offhand way, without any explanation or justification

i'd like to see more 'hey, we really dig this new album.' and less 'this album is bad.' if you don't like something, why cover it? negative press only causes negative consequences for an artist. are you trying to make sure these people are unsuccessful?

never heard the disc, just playing the devil's advocate i guess. i think i'm kinda over the whole 'art is an objectively judgeable decimal point rating.'

Anybody heading to Decatur on September 24th will miss the show because The EARL is actually in East Atlanta.

Cheers!

for those going to the free show, be sure to get there in time to catch opener team robespierre. caught them at grasslands before they shut down and was blown away. crazy fun dancing loudness.

yeah I've seen Team Robespierre a couple times. It's always pretty great. I wonder what they'll be like at such a "formal" gig.

whoa that was a really amazing rant anon...like that was surprisingly inciteful. but um, nice brooklyn vegan for dissing vhs or beta!! the new album BLOWS.

Anon 12:58:

Team Robespierre played Studio B back in May at the Bicycle Film Festival show. I don't think this show will be any more "formal" than that.
