'Virgin in Polaroids' (some pics from the Virgin Festival)
(like CSS,) Bao Nguyen was on hand at the 2007 Virgin Festival in Baltimore this past weekend - Polaroid camera in hand....

more photos below....

I was feeling a bit inferior with all the SLRs around me in the photo pit during Peter Bjorn and John.

Hairspray being set in Baltimore now makes a lot of sense.LCD Soundsystem

you shouldn't be. all of their pictures look exactly the same and their are no distinguishing qualities and imperfections that truly make a photograph beautiful.
and your photos are great!

i'm tired of all these "indie" kids who think polaroids are so cool.

Hey Bao:
Great pics.
On the issue of beehives & Hairspray, it is actually a semi-embedded Baltimore "scene" called "Hons"

Virgin Festival was a fun time. While I've been saddened to see so much attention given to Lollapalooza, I understand it's only because it was scenester-approved. Virgin Festival, for the most part (more on this below), was void of the lifeless, pale specimens we know well in Brooklyn venues. I didn't see too many pairs of oversized sunglasses, if that's an indication.
Day two was great. It rained for a little during Interpol's set, and there was a Hindenberg-esque scare with one of the giant helium balloons Virgin had set up, but overall the vibes were good and the acts kept the day charging forward. With the exception of M.I.A. She sucks. I don't care if she's from Sri-Lanka. Fuck her and her spandex.

Oh, and Brooklyn Vegan got namechecked on the North Stage screens before Interpol. So woot.

yeah virgin was good but there were definitely some assholes in the crowd, especially toward the end of day 2 after a few hours of showers/rain. it's definitely more productive than bonnaroo with a lot less walking. but the bonnaroo crowd is much nicer.

Vfest was awesome. The was a really good mix of dance, indie, etc. The dance tent was excellent. I thought it was going to collapse on itself when crystal method closed their set with 'killing in the name of' mixing into 'smack my bitch up'. I cant between that, Velvet Revolver and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for best act. Really well organised, no long lines for anything, and indoor toilets at the race track. The whole crowd was super friendly too. No clique-y bullcrap. I'm so in for 08.

favorite picture: creepy forehead kid waiting for smashing pumpkins

the combination of creepy forehead kid, curly french fry hair girl, & waiting for smashing pumpkins all documented on a polaroid makes that picture look really dated.
10 years to be exact.
