You forgot A Global Threat at the Knitting Factory, you hipster duechebag. Screw you and your conformity, you don't cover the punk shows because you are an nazy! We will rise up and be free!

It's been very overcast more than it has rained. More interesting, though, is that the temperature has been dropping since 2AM this morning — it's now around 57°!

Dude's totally wearing a 'Casiotone For The Painfully Alone' shirt, way to go. I knew I liked Los Campesinos! :D

Au Revoir Simone was wonderful. It was chilly, but clear and the wind was blowing all three of the ladies hair around in the best way! The music sounded great, but watch out for flying xylophones.

The Thermals were excellent. They even covered the Built To Spill song, Big Dipper, in the encore. Can't wait to see them again Sunday at the Pool with TL&TP.

Thermals. Great as ever!

Los Campesinos were wonderful. They had incredible energy and the crowd (especially the guys from I'm From Barcelona) adored them.

Great show last night from Los Campesinos. So much fun. They were grinning the entire time. You could tell they were so overwhelmed and excited to be there. As Devin pointed out there was a handful of I'm From Barcelona peeps dancing and screaming at the front. I talked to the lead singer afterwards and he was super nice-- said that 14 of them were still in NYC on vacation. Before playing "Frontwards" Los Campesinos said something along the lines of, "This next song is by the best American band ever... which means the best band in the world ever!" They also had a running joke about how they were the "2nd most punk rock band in the UK." After the lead singer moved his mic stand out of the way before the last song he mentioned, "See how punk rock I am? I moved my own mic stand." (delivered tongue and cheek.) I can't wait to hear their album!

los campesinos were totally great last night. Gareth jumped into the audience (showing how punk rock he was) and we had him up crowd surfing while signing. He wound up crashing onto the floor after about 10 seconds but it was hilarious. Grabbed a little video of the build up of you!me!dancing!

I guess there are worse bands to rip off than Architecture in Helsinki.

Dear Daft Punk at Keyspan on 8/9/2007,

You and I both knew this day would come, but we couldn't have imagined it would be so soon. You were everything to me, my whole world, for a good 24 hours. I swore to the heavens that I had no use for live music ever again. I don't know how to tell you this, but I've been unfaithful. Not only did I go to another show, I actually enjoyed myself.

P.S. Los Campesinos, if you're reading this, that was the best show I've ever seen and I can't imagine wasting my time watching any other band play music again.

I saw Los Camps! on Thursday. They were great but the speakers made the words sound muffled (maybe because I was in front of them.) Their lyrics are the best parts of their songs but I knew them so it was great anyway!
