Yo La Tengo playing LI benefit & other Tour Dates
Tickets are on sale for an October 19th Yo La Tengo (+ special guests) show at Landmark on Main Street in Long Island (Port Washington). The capacity is 425 people. All proceeds will benefit The SASS Foundation for Medical Research (who hopefully don't do research by conducting cruel animal experiments - can't find any complaints about them on the Internet). A bunch of Jews playing on the Sabbath? Wish it were Saturday night so I don't have to fight after work traffic. Oh well.

I think only Ira is Jewish...
James McNew certainly isnt.....
They've always played on fridays.... and they are well known for loving southern (pork) barbecue... So that right there should tell you how religiously strict they are...

Ira's so strictly religious that they often play EVERY night of Hannukah. Including Christmas Eve and Christmas night two years ago. Shalom!
