This looks like fun. (That's partly due to my reflex reaction to the words "open bar.")
However, I saw Chromeo at Hiro and while I love their studio work, the show was not so energetic and somewhat boring. It could've been the room+crowd. As we know, it's hard to get people to dance there, but others have overcome the 'Hiro challenge.'

i think the venue is a good choice.

Are Dan Deacons 15 minutes up yet? Please make him go away... He defines the word "hip-tard".

nice sweater.

Andrew's not going to come to the halloween party!
Andrew's not going to have fun!
Wah-wah says Andrew!
Andrew hates fun and he hates puppies!

Nah, i kinda agree with Andrew. This party sounds awesome, and I love chromeo but I really dont understand Dan Deacon. I mean sure, sometimes Ill let his song go during shuffle cause its silly and whatever, but I would never ever ever pay money to go to one of his shows. I just dont understand.

"I love chromeo but I really dont understand Dan Deacon"
no one should preface any statement of musical judgment with "I love chromeo but..."

Dan Deacon is not music, it's sound coming out of the bowels of hell. Why the hell do you people listen to that sh*T!!!!

What time does the scavenger hunt start?
Posted by Alix | September 26, 2007 12:28 AM
you have simply not seen Dan Deacon live yet. Or if you did, you just dont get it. The man is a genius.
Posted by Anonymous | September 26, 2007 12:40 AM
I don't know about genius, but he definitely kills it live, even managing to get the malnourished vegans dancing.
Chromeo's pretty much the same.
Don't go if you're not into dancing and fun, the rest of us will have a fucking awesome halloween.

seriously, dan deacon's time has got to be up by now. i'm all about having fun, but there's a point where i value my time and money more than "having fun". just sayin.

When you buy a ticket this is what it says re: the scavenger hunt:
Please expect an email from us the morning of the event with our Halloween based Scavenger Hunt clues. This is an optional pre-event activity and a little spooky fun from us to you. Oh, and cash prizes for winners too.
So, ya I guess it doesn't have an official start time.

I only want to sign up mostly for the scavenger hunt (and open bar) though I don't know if I'll still be at work when the hunt starts since the 30th is a Tuesday. At least when it was scheduled before it was during the day on a Sunday.

dan is absurdist king. hating on him is going to keep him around longer and perpetuate the controversy. keep it up.

I went to Purchase with Dan. It's not an act, he is actually that nuts.
Posted by bill | September 26, 2007 11:59 AM
I'm so going and dancing until my feet fall off.
Posted by K | September 26, 2007 12:02 PM
I also went to school with Dan and he is definitely an interesting character. I just wish any of this was going on when we were on campus, instead of naked parades...yes naked parades..
I would have liked some dance parties every once in awhile that didn't revolve around Biggie Smalls.

there is nothing wrong with having fun.

for those of us who are under 21... could anyone venture a guess as to how strictly they might be carding?
Posted by Ragan | September 30, 2007 6:52 PM
From what I've heard from their past events, they are going to be carding pretty hard.
