Obviously this is good (albeit exhausting) for Girl Talk and crew, but WTF Bowery Presents?!?! I would have rather gone to the Bowery Ballroom show than Webster Hall!

Posted by litigioushipster | September 12, 2007 2:59 PM

hahahahah

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:03 PM

Go to both! The 2nd one is only $12.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:06 PM

ALL AGES???????

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:13 PM

this maybe quite possibly will stir up everyone's favorite webster versus bowery discussion. awesome. i am mighty happy i didnt get a ticket for webster..

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:13 PM

18+

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:14 PM

will bowery be all ages?

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:15 PM

ugh, i wish i could switch my ticket.

Posted by queefah | September 12, 2007 3:22 PM

that's kind of lame on bowery's part.

Posted by jason | September 12, 2007 3:31 PM

Actually, I want to go to the Bowery Ballroom show instead of Webster Hall because there will be more Brooklyn hipsters there (ya know, like the ones at MisShapes!) rather than those 'glamor' obsessed Manhattan hipsters that will surely be at Webster Hall.

Posted by litigioushipster | September 12, 2007 3:32 PM

Why is it lame? Bowery had a show cancel and the filled it with an awesome package. If you're so mad about having tickets for the Webster Hall show, sell them and buy Bowery tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:39 PM

Hey does anybody know the set times for Webster? I want to go to Simian Mobile Disco afterwards...

Posted by Gty | September 12, 2007 3:45 PM

They are on Sale Now! And only $12! I like the 1AM show better anyway

Posted by Ashby | September 12, 2007 3:45 PM

just called mercury. STILL don't have a tiem they will be on sale. ANY info GREATLY appreciated!

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 3:48 PM

"that's kind of lame on bowery's part."

What's lame? Adding a second show after the first one sold out and still generated a lot of interest? Filling in a slot where a band cancelled instead of just leaving the schedule empty for that night? Giving people who missed out on tickets for the first show another chance to see the band? Which part's lame? Am I missing something?

Posted by curly | September 12, 2007 3:48 PM

Ack - sorry for starting the spark for the debate. Its actually pretty cool, and I'm glad more people will get to see the show.

Posted by litigioushipster | September 12, 2007 3:51 PM

i'm going to both and then sleeping all day sunday

Simian Mobile says 9pm doors...anyone know what time they go on????

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:19 PM

crap. good call anon 4:19

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:37 PM

shit. so is Bonde Do Role. looks like Bonde Do Role @ Powerhouse on friday night.

Gramercy>Bowery is definitely a lot easier. any info on set times for SMD would be grateful.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:39 PM

shit. it does not look like i will be making SMD either if doors are at 9. they won't go on until 11/12...

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:44 PM

i still think it is lame.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:51 PM

i think it is great.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:53 PM

yeah fuck it, i'm going to drugs and go to both.

Posted by queefah | September 12, 2007 4:59 PM

Does anyone know the settimes for the First Girl Talk Show? That says doors at 530pm? Does that mean 6pm White Williams, 7pm Dan Deacon, 8pm Girl Talk???
That's pretty damn early. Guess i will make it for SMD afterwards?

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 5:15 PM

Dan Deacon => Girltalk => SMD afterparty.
I've seen SMD Live (1x) and DJ (3x). They're both amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 5:17 PM

Awesome, going to both. Thanks for the heads up BV!!!

Posted by Pilsner | September 12, 2007 5:20 PM

where/when is SMD after party?

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 5:22 PM

free SMD after party = http://newyork.going.com/invite-10788

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 5:48 PM

Good looking out. The venue and time of the original show were a turnoff, but this should be fun.

Posted by Devin | September 12, 2007 7:34 PM

wtf ??

i have had tickets to the hammerstein show for a while, but now the same lineup at a better venue for cheaper? ?

anyone trying to sell their will call tix and go to the bowery show?

Posted by jkov | September 12, 2007 8:39 PM

are we that annoying that they made a site called www.diehipster.com?

Posted by peoplehateus | September 12, 2007 11:06 PM

no, fuck this shit, seriously.

to add another show on a different day, sure, but look at it this way.

i know the GT/DD crew are doing whats in their best interests - cool. And bowery presents is doing whats in their best interests - understandable.

But wait, the people who slept on getting tickets (not me) get rewarded by getting the chance to see the show in a smaller venue, for less $, and later at night?? (its a dance party, so id like it to be late - i dont like the idea of dancing my ass off for a show to be done at 9:30pm)

Yeah yeah, i know i could go somewhere else and dance, but now MISSHAPES is dead. what am i supposed to go to TIS WAS???? or the free SMD afterparty run by gbh.tv (yeah right) hours later?

look, im all for giving the fans what they want; i dont want anyone to not be able to see the show they want to see, but its understandable why this decision CHAPS MY ASS, along with the asses of a few other people.

and dont tell me i could have bought another ticket to the BB show and sold the WH one, cause you know what? I dont like it when Bowery Presents gives me 'gifts' of another show in the form of annoying errands.

end rant

CHEESEBURGER >>> TACO

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 1:25 AM

Sooo...what should they have done? The Webster show is sold out. The Bowery had a cancellation and was suddenly available. You're suggesting that rather than adding a 2nd show and making more tickets available to everyone who didn't get tickets before, they should've NOT added another show? Do you think that is more fair?

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 9:55 AM

sweet!!! just got my tickets for bowery. i was so bummed i could not get tickets to webster hall and did not want to over pay!!!

give me some drugs....seriously who can help me out haha

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 11:07 AM

It's sold out now.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 11:15 AM

it shouldnt be too hard to get rid of your webster hall tickets now that the bowery show sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 11:26 AM

All I have to say to the people who bought tickets to the Webster Hall show and are now bitching on here:

Fuck you, suckers! Enjoy your early-bird special at the shittiest venue in New York. Don't let the kids from Jersey and Staten Island kick you on the way out. Of course, you could always stay and dance with them. It's not like you've heard the new 50 Cent album enough times.

Damn, it feels good to rant.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 5:37 PM

Oh, and another thing:

If you hate Webster Hall, stop going to shows there and stop paying exorbant amounts to see bands there that obviously are not above playing smaller venues. I've never even been there since I've heard it's lousy and they push you out like refugees once it's time for the club kids to come inside. Fuck that. If you like Bowery Ballroom, support the cheaper shows that are there and maybe, just maybe Bowery Presents will realize which venue actually holds more stock with its audience.

And then, you won't have to bitch about going to a show at Webster since they won't run shows there any more. Probably not, but I can fucking dream.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 5:39 PM

Yes its WAY lame and misleading. This is the type of show you want to see late and night, now we have to deal with rushed sets ending at fukking 11pm. I'm sure most people who bought Webster Hall tickets were expecting to see Dan Deacon and Girl Talk well after midnight.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 5:45 PM

Why were they expecting to see a late show at Webster Hall? It was never advertised as such. And why is it misleading? This was clearly not part of a manipulative plan. Maybe you should to complain to the Noisettes for canceling and making this show possible? Do you honestly think that given the chance to play a second show and sell more tickets, the bands should have said "no"?

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 6:05 PM

Hey, Anonymous 9:55 am.

Go fuck yourself. seriously.

I never stated what they "should have done." I think that overall, the added show is in everyone's interest.

I just was ranting, cause the situation CHAPS MY ASS. That's all; just a rant. Don't be dense.

Oh, and I actually don't mind WH that much, its just always nicer to see things in a smaller venue.

Posted by TACO fucking TIME for your MOM | September 13, 2007 6:33 PM

they should've printed out 550 tix, then made an announcement that a man would be standing with all these tix in the middle of washington square park at such and such time... and will exchange one only for a hard webster hall ticket.

once all webster hall ticket holders had made their successful exchanges and were satisfied... then:

put the newly opened 550 slots at webster hall up for sale on ticketmaster.

^^
this is what all these whiny bitches wanted to happen.

Posted by copiii | September 13, 2007 6:38 PM

copiii has got the right idea!

it would have been the ideal solution for all those whos asses were chapped.

but wait, my ticket is will-call.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. i cant win.

Posted by TACO fucking TIME for your MOM | September 13, 2007 7:40 PM

for people looking for tickets for both shows....just go to the door and even if it's soldout, they always sells tickets at the door.

Posted by don't you worry | September 13, 2007 7:52 PM

why dont you just go to both shows if you love this so much? i dont get it, its only 12 dollars...

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 8:29 PM

already sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2007 10:03 PM

well, you still got gowanus canal for 8 bucks in that case.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2007 9:03 AM

Anyone knows the SMD set times at Gramercy? Friggin Irving's box office is no use....

For all the complains about what bowery presents should and should not do, one thing the box office is awesome about is "customer service". Well, at least they're nice about letting people know when to show up for the bands.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2007 2:50 PM

As one of the people who stuck up for the Bowery staff and security during last week's discussion, I have to say: the door guy at Bowery last night for Dan Deacon/Girl Talk, not a regular, was a major asshole. Anyone know his name?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2007 9:35 AM

pictures from webster hall??

Posted by jkov | September 16, 2007 12:18 PM

you guys need to get off the bouncers dicks man they are fucking doing there job making sure a few drunk idiots dont do any stupid shit...anyway the bowery show was off the hook...white williams was real good live so i bought his cd...dan deacon was awesome although his set was a little short...and girl talk rocked it till like 3am i know our show was better than webster lol...best 12 bucks i ever spent

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2007 3:47 PM

Did anyone notice ticketfast issues for admittance?

Posted by Jp | September 16, 2007 4:06 PM

webster usually blows no matter who's playing, but the energy was insane there last night. the entire stage and front became a heaving sweaty mosh pit you were literally forced to jump up and down with or be crushed...oh, to be young.

and the thing to do was girl talk at webster, take a shower, see smd who went on at midnight, destroyed, plus their set at highline ruled..

Posted by m | September 16, 2007 5:21 PM

i love the dopes like the guy above trying to make himself feel better cause he didnt get to see the bowery show. Even Gregg said on stage how much better he felt and how much better the show was at Bowery. Really a fantastic performance by all 3 groups. Seemed they were much more into it and as usual the intimacy of the venue made it that much more special. My only complaints were the caliber of girls up on the stage during Girl Talk(where are the hot girls these days) and a couple of lunkheads trying to hit on said ugly girls on stage but they got rejected so it sort of made it all worthwhile. Oh yeah the fat dude doing the projection was really annoying and unfunny. And hey, no one got the 30 shots of tequila. I want my shirt!

Ps as well to the guy above, my buddy went to SMD and said they were just ok.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2007 5:58 PM

@ Jp

I did notice people with ticketfast tickets getting shut out. There was one kid in particular who kept going back in the line and they kept kicking him out; the kid was almost in tears.

Was it really a ticketfast issue or was it just people w/o ID?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2007 6:13 PM

My theory:

Ticketmaster bullied Bowery group into selling tickets thru Ticketmaster instead of Ticketweb in order to get MHOW and Terminal 5 onto Ticketmaster; but no-one told Bowery they needed extra hardware to process Tcketfast tickets, ergo the nerw bottleneck.

Yes I have an active imagination, bur perhaps I'm right?

Posted by hipster replacement | September 16, 2007 6:22 PM

to anonymous 5:58

i noted claiber of said girls too. definitely a couple cute ones in the front but a lot of chunksters...were you on stage? i got a sip from the flask of jim beam and i'm pretty sure i contracted some sort of disease.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2007 9:31 PM

I can confirm that the Bowery show ruled, but taking Greg Ellis's word on the show being best of the night isn't very reliable. I am pretty sure he says most of the shows he does is the 'best in weeks' or whatever.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 12:36 PM

my friend had ticketfast tickets but got in fine - i think it was a matter of kids trying to re-use the ticketfast coupons (most likely because they bought copies from a scalper)

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 1:24 PM

Anon @ 6:13
Thanks, i gave me extra ticket to a girl saying she got shut out. But I gave her the only copy, how she messed that up i don't know

Anon @ 1:24
I bet that was the story. Thats always happening at Hammerstein and what not.

Posted by Jp | September 17, 2007 2:01 PM

ticketmaster and ticketweb are the same company so it wouldnt matter who they use...only difference is that ticketmaster does offer the ticketfast service

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 2:19 PM

Were the ticketfast tickets being ripped at the door? If so, Bowery must have been packed beyond all hell?

Posted by Jp | September 17, 2007 2:32 PM

Any Bowery pics? flickr, photobucket?
