Do Make Say Think tonight ++ Max Richter's U.S. debut

DOWNLOAD: Do Make Say Think - Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! (MP3)

Max RichterThis is just a reminder that Beirut & Grizzly Bear are not the only Wordless Music series shows coming up. In fact, Do Make Say Think play their show in the church-like New York Society For Ethical Culture TONIGHT (Sept 14). There's also Mum, Johnny Greenwood, AND the U.S. debut of Max Richter...

Wordless Music is honored to host British composer and Fat Cat recording artist Max Richter for his first-ever U.S. concert appearance. On Wednesday, November 28, Max will perform selections from his albums Songs from Before, The Blue Notebooks, and Memoryhouse in the 300-capacity Good-Shepherd Faith Church alongside a full chamber ensemble and accompanying video projections. Also appearing will be the Minneapolis ambient/electronic composer and Ghostly International recording artist Cepia, as well as New York City pianist Assaff Weisman, who will perform solo piano music by Joseph Haydn and Olivier Messiaen.
All shows and details at the Wordless site.

so dumb question - since it's a "wordless" music series, does that mean there's no singing? anyone know if monday's beirut show is sold out?

will tickets be available at the door tonight?

Judging from the 'philosophy' section of the their website and the bands they have listed, I don't think it has to do with an absence of words. In fact it seems like 'worLdless' would be more apt, since it's the fusing together of separate worlds.

Looks like you can still buy tickets for beirut on monday.

there should be tickets at the door tonight.

"Wordless" originally meant all-instrumental shows but has since evolved to mean regular indie/electronic acts plus classical music performers.

Wordless is an incredible music series, with interesting and diverse artists performing in unique venues. I went to the Amiina, Eluvium and Gilles Vonsattel show in April in the Good Shepherd Church, and it was a breathtaking experience.
Too bad I can't go tonight, but I will be at both mum shows in November.
Seriously, catch one or more of these events and support this amazing concert series.

the show was excellent last night. i was afraid it might be a somewhat subdued performance given the venue, but dmst killed it. they played a little bit of everything and the setting was fantastic. anyone happen to know the set list?

they definitely killed it, the venue was great too.
except for when they did some vocals, the pa seemed to be a bit screwy

would love to go back there for another concert

the show was pretty good - except for being stuck behind two obnoxious girls in the balcony. I had gotten sick of kicking their pew, by the time Fredrica started up - so i tapped them on the shoulder and told them to move somewhere else if they wanted to talk cause they were ruining the show for me. i'm happy to say this was a success. not only did the stop talking, they left after the end of the song, and DMST killed the second half of the show. hope they come around again soon and maybe even play that venue cause it fitted them so well.
