Neil Young - 2007 Tour Dates, new album & Farm Aid pics
Neil Young @ Farm Aid @ Randall's Island, NYC - Sept 9, 2007

As seems tradition for his Farm Aid sets, Young dipped into his revered late-'70s acoustic album "Comes a Time," bookending his brief set with "Human Highway" and "Four Strong Winds." Nelson and his longtime harmonica player Mickey Raphael joined for the latter, as well as "Homegrown." Other highlights included a slowed take on "Everyone Knows This is Nowhere" and "Heart of Gold." [Billboard]Fresh off yesterday's Farm Aid show, Neil Young went ahead and announced some tour dates that include two NYC shows at the United Palace Theater in December. Neil's tour coincides with a new album called Chrome Dreams II - out October 18th on Reprise Records. According to a press release,
Chrome Dreams II is a stunning collection of eight new and two classic Young songs. Recorded last summer in Northern California, musicians include Ben Keith (pedal steel guitar, dobro and other instruments), Ralph Molina (drums) and Rick Rosas (bass), who will be performing with Young on the tour.More photos, tour dates, and info on getting a copy of the CD for free with ticket purchase, below....

God, I love Neil Young! He's been my favorite since his Harvest album was first released. Happy memories. I sure want to see him when he comes to Spokane.

Hey, Canadian, why can't you get into the U.S.? Do you have a criminal record? We don't want your kind here, anyway.

THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME ... UP THERE W THE LATE GREAT JOHN LENNON
Posted by PETER | September 11, 2007 2:09 PM
Van the Man tix at this venue are priced about $150 for decent seats. I imagine a similar price for the 2 Neil Young shows.
Posted by drewo | September 11, 2007 2:58 PM
No way - Neil may be expensive, but it's not fair to do a 1:1 comparison with Van, who at this point is a greedy hack.

ahhh the old us vs. them attitude of a yank.... the only reason i can't get across the border is cause my drivers licence is expired and i need to update it as it is my picture ID and you now need that to enter your police state... as Borat says we support your war OF terror!!
haha peace out anglo-american world power peace out....

Posted by will | September 13, 2007 8:57 PM
Hello,
I am from Amsterdam and I like to come to the concert in NY. Who can tell me when the ticket sale is beginning and how much it costs.
Thanks
Gijs

If you get a chance you certainly want to see Neil live anywhere you are able to - The Bridge Concerts are always one of the highlights of the year - musicians who put their egos in check for a great cause! Only Neil could pull it all together!

I've been getting auto-emails from the Ticketmaster promoter in Denver, Colorado for a Neil date in Denver, Wells Fargo Theater, November 6, 7.30pm. Tickets onsale via Internet and generally on Sept. 21.
Just thought you might want to add it to your list. Nice photos. Thanks!

hahaha: As if you would've been able to cross the border without showing valid picture ID prior to 9/11. Puh-leeze!
Kudos on the loonie re-achieving 1:1 parity with the U.S. dollar, though.

"None of your kind"?
Um, Neil Young is Canadian. What, do you not want him in the country either?
Posted by BTH | September 24, 2007 8:09 PM
BTH: I was kidding. I'm not really Carl Newman (another native of Canada), you know.

I have heard from reliable yet unofficial sources that there will be a European tour in the spring.

We'd love to see Neil Young.....but I guess he doesn't like the west coast cause he never comes out this way! What's wrong with Vancouver, B.C. Neil???
Posted by caren | January 1, 2008 7:02 PM
Is Neil planning on touring western Canada someday? He should know that there's more to Canada than Toronto! We'd love to see him out here!
