a view of Ludfest, NYC - Sept 9, 2007 (CRED)
Ludfest

As has been pointed out in the comments, the Secret Machines did play Ludfest on Ludlow Street on Sunday, but they played inside Pianos instead of outside on the street because things were running late. And it will be at another Lower East Side venue about the same size as Pianos where they will play their next four shows.

Every Wednesday, September 12th though October 3rd, head over to The Annex at 152 Orchard St in the lower east side, to see Josh and Brandon play new tracks from their forth-coming album along with special guest artists.
Tickets for all four residency shows are now on sale.

the set times were close to 2 1/2 hours late. i was excited to see that Secret machines were on at 545 but soon after talking to the sound guy, he informed me that they were well backed up and wouldn't be on for a few more hours..so we left

Still pretty disappointed from that Highline show

Agree about the Highline show, but the Annex is so small that this should be pretty great. At least, I'm going to give it a chance.

if these are going to be anything like the last time they played The Annex, expect them to show up at least an hour late, play a bunch of boring, slow, half-written new songs, then close with "First Wave Intact" or "Lightning Blue Eyes". Also, the last time they were so loud that you could barely tell what song they were playing.

enjoy.

I wasn't impressed at Highline, either.. too 'sludgy' sounding. I'll give this new stuff a second chance (took off after APTBS so I didn't see them at piano's), but I'm very skeptical of this new, post-Ben direction.

I can't believe they moved the show into Piano's I stood around all day just to see the Secret Machines. Being that I am under 21+ I was not allowed into the venue to watch to show I was waiting for. Load of shit if you ask me. And hell... The Annex is 21+ too isn't it...
