He is exceptional.

Worth $155 per ticket plus fees?

He has done nothing much interesting for quite a while, and then his 2006 album "Pay The Devil" was simply brilliant. He will most likely perform "hits" at these shows since a greatest hits compilation recently came out.

I am sure these will be great shows, but the prices are ridicilous. The seats worth getting come close to $300 with TM fees. I don't believe the first night is sold out. Tickets were not selling. I pulled the same seats on Ticketmaster for a few weeks. It has to be a tactic to finally sell some tickets for the other two nights.

Most people who can easily drop $300 per ticket, would not bother going to Spanish Harlem to see him I don't think.

Not that anyone around here is going to go for these prices, but as someone who has seen Van several times over the years (used to see him with my parents), I can tell you NOT to expect him to do any hits, save one or two that he will toss off lazily at the end. He has also done an extended jazz version of "Moondance" at every show I've seen. Van's a legend and he still sounds great, but he can be very uninvolved onstage, and who wants to take the chance of a likely mediocre show for $150 (or more)? Even my parents would balk at these prices.

I'll second the comments of anon 12:12. I've seen Van twice and I would say that they were probably the two worst concerts I've ever been to. He does sound great, but he is dull as can be and usually looks like he would rather be anywhere on earth other than performing for you that night. It definitely won't be a greatest hits show either, you can count on that.
