What's going on Thursday & with Peter Bjorn & John?

Peter Bjorn & John @ Maxwell's, NJ - Sept 5, 2007 (CRED)
Peter Bjorn & John @ Maxwells

I think that's why the small space made them seem that much more powerful and bigger. It felt like a secret, underground show with the band plugging in and cranking it to 11. Peter was in top form, jumping around the stage, climbing on top of chairs and making his way through the crowd. For "Young Folks", as Nicole did the female vocals, Peter did some of his lines in the middle of the room.[Music Snobbery]

Funny, I just bought their album last night (I'm late, I know!)... I wish I had known they were playing.... a drive to NJ don't confront me... as long as I get my money next Friday. (I also listened to a lot of George Thorogood last night)

Posted by Murph | September 7, 2007 10:55 AM

what's funnier is that you actually bought an album..

Murph get back to pissing off Lou Barlow

Posted by whydontyoulikeme | September 7, 2007 11:25 AM

11:18- HEY!!!! Quit yer stealing!

whydon'tyoulikeme- It's because I can't understand how buying PBJ and listening to One Bourbon would piss Lou Barlow off! If I understood the connection, I'd probably think you quite clever, though. Daft, even....

Murph: Murph is also the name of one of Lou Barlow's bandmates in a band whose name I forget.

These guys are not that great of a band. Yes, they have 1 great song but the rest of the package is B.O.R.I.N.G! They have actually been around for years and years but nobody bothered to pay attention till hit maker (and trust funder) Isaac Green of Startime/Almost Gold fame decided to throw them a bone. Sure, there's nothing wrong with being a mediocre, Swedish pop/rock band but there's also no reason to have bands like this rubbed in our faces all the time when there's much better stuff out there that doesn't get any attention at all. People seem to love the band wagon and being told what is good. Strange times we live in.

Aw man, that last post was absolutely boring and went nowhere.

Posted by Anonymous | September 12, 2007 4:37 PM

is B.O.R.I.N.G. supposed to be an acronym for something?
