occasionally i wonder if some of you even truly understand what you like? do you have taste of your own, or is merely determined by the opinion trends of the blogosphere?
quit after the first album?
yeah, all artists should give up their life's work once new york trendsetters no longer find what they do fashionable, once their art no longer validates your own personal sense of coolness.

Marah is at Union HALL not Union Pool.

you don't have to live in new york to know when something's good and when it's not. just sayin.

I once saw a member of Dragons of Zynth wearing his own band's T-shirt. Just sayin.

CRAP Your Hands

These (the cyhsy haters) are the same people who never liked clap your hands say yeah, and are having their revenge because it's cool now to not like clap your hands say yeah. Which means the people saying how they suck now, weren't actually cool when the first album came out, so by default they remain uncool.

cyhsy's second album is TERRIBLE. doesn't have anything to do with what's hip & what's yesterday's news. a turd is a turd. thank you, and have a nice day.

some loud thunder is good too actually

The aspiring critics on this board are pathetic. They rarely try to be insightful or even clever. Instead they just fart out their opinion and browbeat those who disagree. Why should anyone care? At least "CRAP Your Hands" was funny in a completely juvenile, disgusting-image kind of way. "Dragons of Suck"... not so much.

I like how the most typical defense of CHSY is to accuse detractors of being subservient to the "trendsetters". Has it occurred to you that part of the reason why they did comparatively worse on the second record is that it just isn't that good?

gonorrhea in your hands: say yeah!

Going to see Jeffrey Lewis, who is reportedly focusing his set on Crass covers that will form his next release.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah were never that great to begin with. Their 1st cd was ok but nothing special. It's the bandwagon jumping "new york trendsetters"(and Pitchfork)that made anyone notice this and tons of other mediocre at best bands. Just because a band is "indie" and sounds like every late 70's/early 80's funk/punk/new wave band does not mean they are talented. Fun - sure. Cool - maybe. Talented - probably not! You know when bands like Interpol are playing The Garden that music fans have lowered their standards!
