Emmy the Great

* ZZ Top are at Beacon Theatre
* Genesis is at Giants Stadium
* XXXChange & Flosstradamus are at Stereo
* Dirtybird Monthly with Claude Von Stroke at APT

Claude Von Stroke's wobbly tech-house crosses over between the hardcore techno purists and the new generation of dance music fans pretty seemlessly. CVS missed the first edition of the monthly with an earache. Now he's finally touching down and shit will be crazy. -David Bruno
* Devendra Banhart is at Grand Ballroom
* Yo Majesty plays Knitting Factory
* Jose Gonzalez is at Gramercy Theatre
* Tulsa, The Forms, Yeasayer and Shapes & Sizes at Cake Shop

* Emmy the Great at Pianos.....

Emmy the Great (from the UK) is playing a last-minute, free show upstairs at Pianos at 7pm tonight. Last night she played Sidewalk Cafe. What else?

I was on the path train the other day and some 30-something was there wearing acid wash jeans, black shoes with white socks, a fresh spikey haircut, spectacles and proudly displaying his newly purchased Genesis tour shirt; tucked in of course. I almost burst out laughing..

Barack Obama is speaking at Washington Square Park within the hour.

I see alot of people are trying to get rid of their Arcade Fire/LCd tix on craigslist...think they were gonna make a profit eh?

Great show by MMW last night, but they turned North Six into the exact replica of the Bowery Ballroom, it's bizzare, it's the exact same set up and design, even the bathrooms are in the same place. Billy Martin even asked "what's the name of this new place, the Bowery Ballroom. Bartendeder have no idea how to poor drinks, very slow service with not even a long line. The place is somewhat sterile or antiseptic at the moment and they still need to get the kinks out, but the sound was very good and MMW added some soul into the new place, 2 sets 9:15-10:20, 10:55-12:15.

"I see alot of people are trying to get rid of their Arcade Fire/LCd tix on craigslist...think they were gonna make a profit eh?"

No way will people be able to unload them at face value.

To those with extra tickets: bring them to the venue so I can buy them for $10.

Oh my god, yes so sorry, pour drinks, bartender was also spelled incorrectly and I think there was at least one run-on sentence and a bad comma placement.
My alzheimer's medicine must not have kicked in yet for the 30 seconds it took me to write a quick comment about the venue and show. Will strive to do better and proofread next time.....thank you for the correction.

Posted by rescueblues | September 28, 2007 10:40 AM

actually, one of the only differences at the new venue is that the male/female bathrooms are reversed, so watch out.
