iLiKETRAiNS & Islands
As you know, I'm throwing a total of five shows during CMJ this year. The first is Tuesday night October 16th - an official showcase that you can buy tickets for. The second is the very next day - a 2-floor (whole club) FREE day party at Pianos on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
The third party is Friday October 19th at R Bar - a new-ish bar & venue on the Lower East Side that features fancy red decor, large photos of Debbie Harry on the wall, and stripper poles. It's going to be awesome.
Friday October 19, 2007No badges needed. No money needed. Just get there before it fills up. 21+, Drink specials, DJ's, and more details to be announced soon.

No word yet on whether I'll be able to make the Darren Mabee kissing booth happen.

youngins should definitely have a fake id although its a lot harder nowadays with stricter bouncers, scanners, etc.
they have a point though...most people 21+ are at work during the day while college students who are 17-21 are the ones could fill up the spot

i wouldn't be surprised if a good percentage of your readership was under 21..at least have it 18+ and if your 21+ you get a stamp or something..this kind of discrimination against youth in nyc is why im glad todd p is around with his all ages show.

the only real way venues make money from all the day shows that go on is from bar sales, hence the 21+. lame nyu kids buying soda and water, is not gonna pay anyone's rent.

I talked to the bar. This show is now 18+.
Bowery on the 16th is also 18+
I doubt Pianos will change their policy though, so those two shows (and the afterparty at 205) are still going to be 21+.
