Art Goblins are sort of Art Brut, and Art Goblins only sort of played in Brooklyn on Saturday night....

Art (Brut) Goblins @ Music Hall, NYC - Oct 20, 2007 (CRED)
Art Goblins @ Music Hall

"Art Goblins didn’t play their 9:15pm set because Eddie missed his flight and arrived to the venue late. When presented with the fact that they may not play, they decided to play an semi-plugged in set in the Music Hall lobby." [Metromix]

"Art Goblins missed their opening set but treated the crowd to a short impromptu set of Art Brut songs as everyone was leaving. With just an amp in the corner of the lobby and a screaming Eddie Argos, it was the perfect way to close out CMJ. We walked home and slept for 24 hours." [Obscene NYC]

Matt & Kim headlined this sold out show (@ the Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn, NY - part of CMJ, Saturday night October 20, 2007).

The Hood Internet played too.

BK Vegan mentioned everyone that performed at this show (even Art Goblins), except "The Hood Internet," who played a longer set due to Art Goblins' absence. Come on Vegan at least mention them... and "Booo" to the MHoW sound guy who had most of their set turned down...

Who's the hot redhead?!

Unfortunately, that's not even Art Goblins in full. Jasper Future had been wandering around the venue most of the night but he didn't play with the band in the lobby.

What I meant was, on following the link this picture becomes much less flattering and much more hilarious. But the band still looks awesome.

The Hood Internet bored me half to death. Seriously, an hour of them was just too much. 15 minutes was too much...loved the two song Art Goblins set in the lobby though.

Posted by Anonymous | October 22, 2007 5:42 PM

Nope, but Chad and Greg of Team Band (blue strap & tambourine) played with Art Goblins that night.

Someone needs to turn off their computer and get outside. Hit a bar, local church meeting, whatever, but someone really needs to get laid.

does this mean the art goblins/team band combo might play in chicago? art brut are here for two days this week, after all. any word?

I heard a rumor floating around the Metro during the halloween show that there was an attempt of a Chicago Art Goblins/Team Band reunion, but some politics and suits got in the way. Too bad! I've seen Team Band play before-- they rock!, would have been awesome to see Eddie front them.
