Victory Records has been there for me from an early age until the present. From Earth Crisis to Minus to Bury Your Dead, they release some of the best heavy music around. Following up the promise of last year's EP (More Than You Can Handle), Beneath the Sky have proven worthy of the pedigree set by Victory's list of triumphant acts.
Hailing from Cincinnati, Beneath the Sky craft intense metalcore with all of its trappings (blast beats, practically danceable riffing, general intensity). Vocalist Joey Nelson follows the path laid by John Henry of Darkest Hour (another great Victory band) by taking a black metal approach, high pitch wails followed by guttural screams. In the ever splintering world of hardcore, both bands (along with All Shall Perish and Montreal's Despised Icon) have been classified as Deathcore. You can get dizzy mirco-organizing all of the subgenres - all you need to know is What Demons Do To Saints is one of the best heavy albums of the year.

Fact: Victory, Metal Blade, Trustkill, Earache, Nuclear Blast, Roadrunner, and Century Media all suck and so do their rosters.
Only good thing to ever come from Victory was Between the Buried and Me and Ringworm.

victory put out deadguy's fixation on a coworker so fuck all of you. that album ruled.
i even get into strife after all these years.
that said, i have no interest in victory in 2007.

Victory has had great bands in the past like Integrity, One Life Crew, Deadguy, Warzone, Cause For Alarm.
the only band they've had in the past decade worth shitting on is Ringworm.
(and the Tossers are a good Pogues rip off band)
I would say they are one of the worst "heavy music" or hardcore labels ever.

Unless is sounds like the first Earth Crisis album, Converge, or Martyr AD, hardcore sucks. (This of course does not apply to post-hardcore and metalcore)

Sounds like Tony Victory has some pull in the p.r. dept. That was probably the sweetest, kindest and most considerate little blog about a label I've ever heard. Everyone knows that label blows, and so does BV.
