love bon iver. amazing set at merc this summer...while it was only a handful of people in attendance (mostly due to time of day, like 630 or 730) - they filled the room with powerful swells/set. great stuff.

glad they finally reviewed it and gave it a positive review.

even if it's better than 8.1 :)

Wow. Streaming the album now. It's hauntingly gorgeous, spare and moving, and touchingly stirring. I don't use those words lightly. Really looking forward to seeing them live. I might just have to go to -both- shows.

u know how certain albums are like, or become, 'breakup albums?' as in, they're pretty pivotal in helping one get over a sig. other? well, i was there this summer, and this album was it. anon 1:12 hit's it in that it's content is truly haunting, touching, and it really gets in there.

...and if you're out there reading this - that's right - over you!!! ha! no, you're great, and i hope you're well.

(as a critic though, i must say that it's a better experience live, as some of their power/builds dont necessarily translate as well on disc - probably due to production constraints, etc...but still a great album)

i'm absolutely touched by this beautiful album. i'm going to soundfix later to pick up a copy. though i recently was profoundly moved by the new film "into the wild", i haven't been touch by music like this in awhile. this is revelatory. bare and honest.

Skinny Love is easily one of the years best songs

and yeah, he's currently recording the new Land of Talk album at Arcade Fire's church studio

ha. i just called soundfix to ask if the had his album and the clueless hipster girl said, "no, we don't have the boney bear album and let out a snide laugh." does the soundfix staff usually blow so hard?
