Doveman backed by members of the National in DC & NC - Sept 2007

If you were lucky enough to catch Doveman opening for the National recently, then you probably saw the Doveman band comprised of Aaron, Bryce, & Bryan from the National, in addition to Sam and Thomas (Doveman himself). Those lucky enough to have tickets to the sold out National show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday October 13th, will get to see the same thing - Doveman is opening that show (Elvis Perkins is too).

With My Left Hand I Raise the DeadDoveman is also playing the free BrooklynVegan day party upstairs at Pianos on Saturday October 20th. Who will be backing Thomas then? That's still unknown, but Sam definitely won't be - that's because he'll be playing with none other than Nico Muhly at Iceland Airwaves (far, far away). It will be Doveman's 2nd appearance at a BrooklynVegan show.

Doveman's new album With My Left Hand I Raise The Dead is out today! And like Vanderslice & Beirut, Thomas' brother Fastboy created a video for each song on the album. You can watch them all, and you can see the tripped out one for "Tender Mercies" (and tour dates) below.....
