look at all the hipsters flock to another gimmick performance

Posted by jp | October 22, 2007 11:58 PM

who peed in your wheaties this morning?

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 12:29 AM

look at tons of people "flock" to an awesome time in which a lot of fun was had by many. sorry that most of the people there are more interested in having fun then whatever mindblowing dirty projectors experience you were having at the cake shop with 6 people ten years ago or something really cool like that.

I think i saw jesus tonight. thank you justice or should i say thank you exstacy.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 12:39 AM

only someone who really did just do ecstasy would thank it and misspell it.

it was amazing when daft punk came out and played at the end of he set

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 8:38 AM

If a Daft Punk show is an ice-cold Coca-Cola in a glass bottle, Justice was a warm, flat Diet-Rite.

Posted by Mr. Green | October 23, 2007 8:54 AM

Anyone go to both shows? What was the difference?

Posted by Dkeady | October 23, 2007 8:59 AM

you guys are fucking pathetic - you can't compare daft punk (after making 4+ albums) to justice, who has only made one.

when daft punk came out with their first cd, they would just go onstage in hooded sweatshirts and mix, there were no light shows, no robot masks. justice was incredible, even moreso since this is their debut cd.

pull all of the dicks out of your asses, especially you mr. green and jp - you're a bunch of cunts.

The last post by 'Anonymous' sums up the overall "amateur hour" vibe of the whole night. Thanks Anonymous!

Posted by Mr. Green | October 23, 2007 9:17 AM

it was fine, whatever. relax people. it was a dance show.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 9:23 AM

Though it was fun and the after party on Saturday was fun. It was NOTHING compared to the Daft Punk after party. There is no contest.

Posted by dkeady | October 23, 2007 9:35 AM

Midnight Juggernauts (the openers) kinda sucked.

Posted by Carl | October 23, 2007 9:52 AM

worst.venue.ever.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 10:06 AM

Agreed. Venue SUCKS. Completely over sold. HUGE will call/guest list line. Impossible to get to/from the bar.

Posted by Mr. Green | October 23, 2007 10:18 AM

Thanks, 9:02! Nothing like a little homophobia in the morning!

It was overcrowded, I was at the front most of the set, but had to leave because it was getting way too hectic. Going to metal shows wasn't as dangerous as this gig. It was great, intense, but way too crowded. Someone must've elbowed me in the head at least 4 times and tried to throw me down so they could get the barricade. By the time the Soulwax remix of Phantom Pt. II was ripped, it was too much. My internal organs and my knees were getting crushed. Being tall didn't help...the venue was big, but the crowd was bigger. I love Justice, but Terminal 5 should've thought this through.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 10:28 AM

Cam Diaz.

Posted by Cam | October 23, 2007 10:31 AM

Plus, So Me had a set in the beginning and was pretty bad. The only highlight of that was Crescendolls...and the Midnight Juggernauts were very impressive.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 10:32 AM

"Someone must've elbowed me in the head at least 4 times"

"Being tall didn't help"

How can you be tall and since get elbowed in the head? Were you standing next to giants?

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 10:34 AM

10:34, people were jumping on me and trying to literally JUMP OVER ME to get to my spot. I was front and center and it was like a mobscene. It was like ONE BIG MOSHPIT. If I had let go of my grip on that barricade, I would've surely been trampled. The crowd was seriously insane. For fuck's sake, there was one girl with a boot beating everyone in front of her to get to the front. I had to shove her back at least 3 times to tell her to fuck off. She then smacked me and three other people in the face with that boot, which forced me to THROW THE BOOT IN THE BACK. Christ, it was just NOT a great experience from the front.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 10:43 AM

The music itself was good. I enjoyed it way more than Saturday's show. The crowd for this show was much worse though. It was an asshole convention. And the place was way too packed.

Posted by showtrotta | October 23, 2007 10:53 AM

has anyone here ever been to a rave? like circa 1996?

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 10:58 AM

Are people really complaining about all of this shit?

Would a sterile environment with every other patron placed 3 feet from you be better?

Perhaps they can give everyone their own personal soundboard and headphones, so it sounds good for everyone.

You may as well go watch it on TV you fucking babies. That show was raw and filled with energy. What more do you really expect? Especially from such a spastic style of music.

Plus, there will always be douche bags at shows, get over it. It isn't Justice or Terminal 5's fault their there.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:04 AM

ahem, they're there.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:10 AM

11:04, no one's looking for personal space, they're just looking to avoid injury and enjoy a show. It isn't Justice's fault at all, you are correct, but if Terminal 5 wants anyone to come back, they're going to have think about how many people actually left the front in that entire Justice set. I counted 22 along with myself. It was a 70 minute set. that's one person every 3 or so minutes. You do not want that occurring at a show. You have to put some of the blame on Terminal 5.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:15 AM

Well, the picture looks like a prison riot. But maybe that's just because of the drab venue.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:22 AM

Justice played great last night on the set of Total Recall!

Posted by paul | October 23, 2007 11:33 AM

11:33, nice. You actually made me chuckle my hot cup of coffee. Thank you for burning my tongue, it was worth it. :)

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:38 AM

Why would a venue want someone to stay in front for the entire show? Immobile person = no drink sales. Better for the venue if you leave the front and periodically grab a drink.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:39 AM

Word of mouth, or in this case of word of blog comments. How many people have said Terminal 5 is a shite venue? Way too many...and with an OVERSOLD gig like this one was...it only adds to a bad reputation.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:43 AM

I loved the show, but I agree that this is not the best venue. They should cage those people on the second and third floor, they enjoy throwing down stuff at other people.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:45 AM

Word to the wise for future visits to T5: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT do will-call. get your tickets mailed to you. The will-call line was out of control, if you had tickets you could just walk in.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 11:51 AM

anyone get rained on from the overflowing toilet flood up in the top balcony? hah

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 12:23 PM

Cam Diaz.

Posted by Cam | October 23, 2007 12:30 PM

actually, yes. i was 15 at the time and very into partying without drugs. at the ripe old age of 18, i attended my last party and fell asleep on a bed of flyers next to my friend's car.

what are you getting at, 10:58?

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 12:32 PM

I hope the venue gets the kinks out and is running better by the time Ween gets there. I'm really disappointed that they're playing there considering all of the negative feedback so far.

Posted by treece | October 23, 2007 4:29 PM

that concert was a fucking experience, i was kinda angry cause my dealer got hi n fucked up my candy order, but it was so good that i had a lot of fun anyways

Posted by anonymous | October 23, 2007 5:04 PM

a summary of every brooklyn vegan comment string:

"I thought it was only average, not nearly as good as when they played two years ago at the annex."
"No, it was really awesome, life changing, also i was on drugs."
"I can't believe you hipster kids like this shit, you like anything that pitchfork shits out a good review of."
"Why are you so mean? People have different tastes, you should respect that. Also the show was amazing. Also I was on drugs."
"What time does Daft Punk go on?"

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 5:33 PM

so me's set was really bad. good music, awful transitions. midnight juggernauts were great. justice rocked, i rolled.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 6:57 PM

1) this was a dance show
2) this was a great dance show
3) dancing any less than what the crowd did would have been inappropriate

Too much? step aside and let the others have fun

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2007 9:22 PM

Can help me identify this remix?

Yup... it's all hipsters who all want to be better than the next hipster. Sorry guys, the music really isn't that good.... in fact it's bad.

Posted by Anonymous | October 28, 2007 12:33 AM

when i saw gogol bordello there it was probably one of the most awful concert experiences of my life.
i think if terminal 5 nixed about 600 tickets off of the limit for their shows, it might be a little more chill.

Maybe it sucked just because Gogol Bordello is a gimmicky abortion of a band.
