Lucky Dube, RIP --- (5 men arrested)

Lucky Dube

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (CNN) -- Five men have been arrested and charged with murder over the shooting of reggae legend Lucky Dube, Johannesburg police said Monday.

The men were arrested Sunday in an area east of Johannesburg and will appear in court on Tuesday, police spokesman Eugene Opperman said.

Along with murder, Opperman said the men were charged with possession of stolen property, a charge unrelated to Dube's death. Opperman said police seized two stolen firearms and four vehicles, including the one used on the night Dube was shot.

The 43-year-old musician was killed Thursday night as a hijacker tried to steal his car, his record company said. Dube was dropping his children off at a relative's house at the time; he attempted to escape but died almost instantly from his wounds, Gallo Record Company said. [CNN]

Tears on my chiks.Lucky is gone.Who else are behind the sin? For how long will this go on in S.A. There is no guarantee for life in that world. No peace at all.Is it for the vehicle alone or for other specific interests. How safe are we then to expose our lives during the world 2010. are our vehicles gpoing to help monuvure nicely or just help us get killed so pre-maturely? Too bad.MHSRIP. South Africa, the whole world is watching yo reaction on the Muderers of Lucky. If u wont kill those cursed fools then that will definately affect the attendance of the pipo during World cup 2010 coz it really portrays the worst picture as pipi will fear losing their lives pre-maturely!!!!!

Dube, u sang on CRIME,CORRUPTION,COMING TOGETHER AS ONE and finally RESPECT. And now it`s up to south Africa take yo concern or not. Lucky, may Jah put u on his right hand!!!!!.Wake up south Africa, dont be get famous for BAD THINGS, yo image is being destroyed !!!!!

It was just Dube's vission when he sang the song DRACULA. We have a saying here in TANZANIA which says; WHAT EATS YOU IS WITHIN YOUR WEARING Those who killed him are dracula and let them be punnished ten times than the way Dube died.I am Veri from Dar es Salaam.

Rest In Paradise Lucky

You will be forever be missed and marked in my heart

Your music was rare, real, and pure from the soul, your untimely death was senseless and tragic. My tears flow and my heart and prayers are with your loved ones. I wish I could pay my respects properly but no better way to say it than " Lucky you are a legend that will continue to live on pass death, thank you for the priceless gift of your music you left behind for all too cherish and remember you by." God Bless your loved ones. I pray justice prevails against those responsible for your death. They not only took a innocent life, they took a Husband/father/relative/friend/beloved singer/ and legend.

Stop violence, promote peace and unity!

It is really sad that at this time in the world we still have people who can kill that which is most honoured. The killing of Lucky Dube has made a lot of us who loved the man really shed tears. Why should it be Lucky Dube honestly?? What wrong did he do to these fools so that they should open fire on him??? They say revenge is not good, but what do we do to such people who deprive us of the man we all loved very much? How I wish the law is South Africa could be changed so that it becomes very stiff on such fools. The government can surely do something. Are we going to sit down and lose our beloved just like that? How long will it take this country to bring sanity and order in this country? What a country!!! You move from Mfecane to Aphathaid and now 50 people are murdered each and every day in South Africa. It is high time the givernment took a seriuos measure to protect good and productive people from being shot just like that. Why should civilians have guns in the first place? Let the police and the army move in to destroy all the gangs of thieves and thugs here in South Africa. It only takes a political will and all can be sorted out.
