"Ramesh not feeling so well" - Oct 7, 2007 in DC (CRED)
Ramesh

Voxtrot just had to cancel a few Canadian shows....

Sorry everyone, but Voxtrot is canceling off of both the Hamilton and Toronto, ONT shows. If you've seen the band in the last couple days, I'm sure you're aware that Ramesh has been a bit under the weather. He was taken to the hospital after last night's show in Philly, and underwent minor surgery this morning. Thankfully he's okay.

We're unsure whether Ottawa and Montreal will happen, but will definitely keep you in the loop.

That sux....both for Ramesh, for Canada, and potentially for NYC.

I say "NYC", because (I'm being selfish because) Voxtrot in fact have THREE NYC shows coming up. First let me say that sometimes people bill "special guest" on a show to try and trick people into showing up for something they deem to be "BIG". I like people to know what they're getting. Voxtrot also didn't want to trick anyone, BUT the only way I could get them to play my BrooklynVegan CMJ showcase at Bowery Ballroom on October 16th, was if we all agreed to keep it quiet until the time that their other two already-scheduled shows in Brooklyn (the two days before) were closer to selling out - it makes sense. Well, that time is now.

BrooklynVegan CMJ showcase @ Bowery Ballroom
October 16, 2007, NYC (the whole lineup)
6pm - Bon Iver ("recommended")
7pm - The Shaky Hands (not to be confused with...)
8pm - Miracle Fortress (those crazy Canadians)
9pm - Most Serene Republic (those crazy not actually Canadians)
10pm - Dean & Britta (Luna)
11pm - The Rosebuds (dance party)
12am - Voxtrot
For $16, you're getting your money's worth (even without the added bonus of Voxtrot) - tickets are still on sale, or use your CMJ badge to get in. Tickets are also still on sale for their Music Hall shows (with the Little Ones & 1990s). Feel better Ramesh!

BONUS: Sparrow House (Jared from Voxtrot solo) is also playing the free BrooklynVegan afternoon party at Pianos (upstairs) the next day - Wednesday, October 17th.

Voxtrot's new video for "Firecracker", and all tour dates, below.....

Weird....when they ended up replacing The Coral on the Arctic Monkeys tour you pretty much downplayed and casually insulted Voxtrot because you prefferred The Coral (which are indeed better). And now you're super pals with Voxtrot. Funny.

Yeah, it's weird that your musical tastes change over time, BV. What's your fucking problem?

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2007 9:46 AM

Voxtrot? That's a big surprise? No offense to both BV and Voxtrot, but that "surprise" is even more underwhelming than bonlineb.com

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2007 9:49 AM

nothing will ever be as underwhelming as beonlineb.com dude.

this is a nice, but not insanely major headliner surprise. I got my tickets weeks ago and this show will definitely kickass. most serene republic + the rosebuds + voxtrot for 16 bucks at bowery? amazing.

i say kudos to BV. although i do not care for their music, a lot of people do, and he regonised that and made it happen. however, i feel they may have played the city way too much over the past year (hasn't it already been about 8 times?).

thanks for the show. i'm going and i'm very excited, but i do agree that the "special guest" surprise turning out to be voxtrot is indeed very underwhelming...

it's amazing how much shit people talk behind a computer screen - ie, anon 9:39/9:46. each day, it blows my mind knowing that the same people that are so negative, are those people standing next to me at a show.

"it's weird how your musical tastes change over time?" dude - what kind of fcking dig is that, anyway? u unevolved piece of shit, isnt that the point?

at the end of it all...like a lot of us, id bet u look at this site at least once daily. which means, you probably get some sort of positive output from it's content. instead of hating, if you have something constructive to say in improving the site, then perhaps it should be voiced. otherwise, shut it.

so i ask you - "what's your fucking problem?" maybe a small dck? nah, im just playin...but probably lack of appreciation / respect?

lots of good stuff?! I want to know what that is...

Posted by TK | October 9, 2007 12:53 PM

Vinz,

I think that 9:46's comment was directed at the first comment. I think he was being sarcastic.

perhaps some of us are actually interested in finding out what's wrong with Ramesh's wellbeing that required him to go to surgery? perhaps...anybody?

Who cares, this band sucks as well as 90% of the attempts of anyone under 26 to make music.

Get real jobs, you trust fund hippies.

Posted by Chris | October 10, 2007 2:38 AM

So wait, that guy who plays Sylar in "Heroes" has a band?
