that drummer boy duet is priceless

Even if it was free ... and these prices are just nuts.

Are you comparing these ticket prices to Neil Young's prices b/c you think these are more worth it being in a bigger venue? Or because Neil Young's is more worth it being in a smaller, more intimate venue? I wasn't sure what you were getting at.

But why do people still get shocked at tickets with $100+ price tags? For major legendary acts like Stevie & Neil, this has pretty much been the norm for years now (I said "pretty much"). I don't mean to say I like it, but I find it hard to believe that people still get outraged. People were downright SHOCKED when Neil's prices were announced a little while back.

This isn't LCD Soundsystem at Studio B we're talking about... It's Stevie Wonder... and Neil Young... at giant arenas & theaters. We're in the era of the $450 top ticket price to Broadway shows. I think $165 for the best seats in the house to Stevie Wonder is worth it. Will I pay it? Nope. But that's why they have other price options. I would like to see him though. I'm still kicking myself for missing him at the Apollo a few years back.

I have no problem paying between $60 and $100 to see Stevie Wonder.

Has anyone heard about any of the west coast shows, what was played, how the performance was?

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2007 8:06 AM

No, the BBC is right on that one. Those are all really bad. I love Stevie, but come one.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2007 8:34 AM

I'd have no problem paying $165 for Stevie...if I could actually pay $165 to see him from a good seat. The chances of that happening are quite slim.

Curious - does anyone know how much of the ticket price the artist takes home? Exactly how much are Stevie or Neil making for clocking into work for an evening? Seems to me it could be at least a couple hundred thousand PER NIGHT.

I went to Stevie's Concert in Baltimore last month and let me tell you he's worth $165.00 and much more. He performed for 3hours straight. He never left the stage. It was the best concert that I've ever witnessed. Just when you thought okay this is the last song, he hit you with 3 more hits and then six more. It was just neverending. If you die never having gone to see him perform live then you've missed something truly amazing, and inspiring. He will be back in DC at the end of this month. I've told everyone I know to go to this fantastic show.

OH...I AM SO HAPPY...SOMEBODY WHO HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON MY WISH LIST...THIS JUST MADE WHAT WAS A CRAPPY DAY...

I second that he's worth the $165. He sounds awesome live & plays for HOURS - non-stop hit after hit! Well worth every penny!!!!

Very very nice. So happy i am going to get to see someone who I have always wanted to see. Thank you for making my crappy day better.

Stevie was here in Fairview, Oregon a few months ago! Top ticket price was $100.00! Not bad for Stevie! Although it was a very small venue, and it sold out in 20 minutes, I was fortunate enough to get a great seat! I've seen Stevie once before, back in the 70's. He was GREAT! Both times! Three hours + this time !!! I wish that he'd come back to Oregon!

I traveled up to Boston to see him last month. It was incredible. He is a true musical genius...

Why isn't it illegal for scalpers to buy blocks of tickets?

I've noticed that you can still get amazing seats for the Cleveland show (even front row) on ticketmaster. I guess it's because those seats are $200 for Cleveland.

I just saw Stevie Wonder on last night in Atlanta, he is awesome. He puts his heart & soul into his show. It is a must see! He is so entertaining and talented. OMG, the highlight or should I saw ONE of the highlights was his song "Ribbon in the Sky." It is just too many highlights to list here. This is a quality show!

Posted by Anonymous | November 2, 2007 9:22 AM

Cleveland was "postponed." What was the deal with that show? You could still get seats in the first few rows.

who is the warm upband if any?

Posted by ken | November 15, 2007 3:08 PM

Great show tonight. Prince showed up and played guitar on Superstition.

and Tony Bennett on 'For Once In My Life'. Totally unforgettable and extremely moving. Worth every penny - I absolutely would have paid double.

Alright, time for a little reality check. I don't know if i would call the show tonite unforgettable and moving. I would save that superlative for the show i saw him play at the Apollo a few years ago. Now that was something

Unfotunately the acoustics of MSG took away from the performance and i was pretty close to the front. Stevie can always rise above things like that so it really was a fine night. Funny watching the people who dont usually go to concerts trying to rock out. Yes, Prince came out to play guitar during Superstition but they pretty much buried his guitar in the mix until he took a solo which was short and nothing special. And honestly for what Prince has been doing lately to his fans on the internet i really hope people post pictures and videos of him from tonite all over the place. Tony Bennett on the other hand was great as he always is. Beautiful touch as well on "Ribbon in the Sky" with having the audience sing in harmony. Although not the best Stevie performance i have ever seen, you really cannot go wrong seeing him play.

First time I ever saw him and would definitely would go see him again. Fun show.

Posted by Anonymous | November 18, 2007 8:16 AM

first time i've ever seen him. probably the single best musical experience of my life.

Posted by Anonymous | November 18, 2007 8:40 AM

MSG was the best show I've ever been to.

Hopefully these 2 above are trying to be sarcastic with some lame attempt at humor. Because if not then I really have to think they are both around the age of 16, gay and have never been to a concert before.

I caught the show at MSG and the one Nov. 8 in Philly. The sound and musical attention to detail were better at the Philadelphia show, but the added fun of having Tony Bennett and Prince show up on stage made it worth the trip to NYC. Yeah, Prince's solo was weak and burried but for my date, on her first night in the Big Apple, and a huge Prince fan, it made the night that much more magical. Add a stroll through Times Square...... Stars in her eyes for the next two weeks and extra nookie for your boy! Stevie Wonder will always be a hot ticket.
