Not to hijack this thread (i think Sunset Rubdown is great), but I came across this, which Im sure you'd probably post anyway and some have already seen, but I think it's important.

It was a great show last night, though the band was a bit confused about the setlist. Spencer jokingly described this as a "half-core", which entailed half the band staying on stage and the other half leaving before returning to play the last two songs. Highlights were Winged/Wicked Things, Shut Up I'm Dreaming ....., and ending the show with The Empty Threats of Little Lord.

Is there any story behind the Neil Young poster on the drum? Or does Neil Young = Jesus?

Does anybody want to start top 10 lists for the year...3 categories (top 10 albums, top 10 tracks, top 10 guilty pleasures) for 2007..I think it would be nice to see how everyone ranks all the great music that made 2007 to date...

Holy God they were amazing tonight (Bowery) did a beautiful stripped down version of The Mending Of The Gown and then ended on The Taming Of The Hands...
That is the best song Spencer has ever written
very relaxed and intimate show. Felt like I was in their living room.

you can see the setlists for both shows (as well as full reviews and pictures) on the wolf parade fansite forum:

the guitarist is not new...the precussionist is, his name is Marc...and the neil young poster has no meaning other than the fact that michael (the blond guitarist) loves neil young...

Pretty bad, boring, dull. Would have made more sense to play the new album the whole way through.

Anon at 11:51 the show was not dull one bit. It was one of the best shows of the year for me atleast. They played the new songs great. The slow version of mending of the gown was amazing.

I was at both shows. Spencer is a spectacular performer. What I love about this band live is how casual they are between songs (how they banter, kill time, etc.) and how incredibly focused they are when they're actually playing. It's a perfect balance. I'm so glad I went to both nights.
