Shangri La is a loft and photo studio w/ a stage, a huge gallery space, and lots of swank accoutrements. not that anyone on this board cares but Morrissey was excellent last night..aside from the upper balcony, the place was packed..no matter the ticket price people still love this man..

Moz was excellent, agreed, and very much engaged. He sounded and looked great, and the band was tight.

Morrissey's voice was excellent. Band was obviously some band he hand picked. Good not great. Could have used some more Smiths songs. I guess he's going to spread it out as an incentive for the people who are going all 5 nights. That would require some endurance.

7 of his 21 songs were Smiths songs..I kind of feel the same way about the band but aside from Boz his original english gang has all gone their seperate ways so he does the best with what he's got..

Hammerstein is pretty strict about separating the floor, Mezz1 and Mezz2 ticketholders. There are all sorts of dividers, and two levels of ticket checkers. I saw the Mezz1 lady at the bottom of the stairs let a floor-ticket guy up to Mezz1, but the woman at the top of the stairs would not let him in.

ugh, anyone have an extra for the wurst boat tonight? i am decidedly not on a boat
