Will it be an LCD Soundsystem remix of Arcade Fire?
Arcade Fire & LCD Soundsystem - together in St Paul - Sept 30, 2007 (CRED)

This one comment got me thinking, so I searched and found this...
"I'm working on a remix of 'Black Mirror' for them right now. And I'd love to [produce them]. That's one of the things I regret about being in the band: there's not enough time to do some of those records anymore. I haven't done it for awhile with another band since... the Rapture. Yeah. 2003? Too long, man." [James Murphy to Pitchfork]Then I found the above picture which reveals that LCD Soundsystem & Arcade Fire are collaborating on stage on this tour. double nice - even if neither of these things has to do with what will actually happen on October 6th.

Anon 5:25: That can't be accurate. They're scheduled to play my bathtub at 7pm, and from what I've heard, it's a bitch to get back from Randall's Island. They would never make it in time.

y'know...why would pitchfork care if it was a secret show????

arcade fire has hired david copperfield to turn randall's island into a giant unicorn that will fly everyone up to god, who will then turn the power back on in the heart of man.

From a post on the af.net forum:
Free b-sides and rarities release and movie/DVD announcement (there may be a physical release of this set bundled with the aforementioned DVD release). It is neither a new "Black Mirror" video or a webcast of Saturday's show. It may involve a charity or two as well. But you did not hear that from me.
Posted by Anonymous | October 2, 2007 8:31 PM
Considering that the new website that was online was neonbible.com in reverse - a remixing by LCD makes sense.
Posted by Anonymous | October 2, 2007 9:38 PM
not a remix.

i'm hoping the big announcement on october 6th is a joint statement from both bands that they're going to retire. that'd be most welcome.

just before the encore, satan shall be released from his tomb beneath randall's island so that he can join arcade fire and lcd on stage. the prophecy will be fulfilled! see you there.

dont talk shit about LCD until you've seen them live on this fucking tour. they slay.
Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2007 4:42 PM
my god pitchfork is gay
Posted by pd | October 3, 2007 6:18 PM
yeah, I saw LCD live before you guys were even buying your first Metrocards. They sucked, dude cops Jon Spencer vocals and tries to rock like an old coked-up frat turd.
LCD formula- play one note over and & over & over & over and talk about how cool you are while ripping off songs from your own record collection (Eno, Normal, Moroder, even the Beatles)
Dude is just some frat meathead that bought nice studio equip and now thinks he's the shit and he'll "kick your ass if you don't dance" fuck his bully disco.
Posted by Sonny | October 3, 2007 6:33 PM
oh yeah sonny! well, I like them! so there! take that! INTERNETTTSSSS
Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2007 6:39 PM
hey sonny, i said this tour dipshit. the band is incredible and they do amazing shits with the songs. go see them and i dare you to not come away impressed. oh yeah thats right, you fucking hate everything but the national.
Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2007 8:05 PM
my god calling things "gay" isn't really cool anymore (it never was, really)
Posted by Anonymous | October 3, 2007 8:50 PM
who said i was trying to be cool?
you know exactly what i meant in that context which is precisely why i used that word. and it has nothing to so with same sex sex.
"my god" stop overthinking everything.

That picture tells nothing of an LCD Soundsystem/Arcade Fire collaboration on their current tour. I was at that show. Not one of the back up singers were Arcade Fire members. LCD was touting a group of approximately 8 singers and musicians. Quit starting rumors you poor poor blog!
Posted by JayFlyer | October 4, 2007 12:40 AM
so i saw arcade fire's lead singer break off into two different characters and then slice the presidents penis off with his powerful eyes that evoke as much power as his ethereal voice. The artists is the one who holds the key in how to slay the monster the reptilian beasts that take this place and put it behind bars and teach us wholly that love shoulds subside to fear. Fear not those who kill the body.

Are you out of your fucking mind, Sonny? Do you know anything about the group or the man (James Murphy). To base all of your hatred off their debut single from four years ago is pathetic. The DFA are a great record label. The acts (including Murphy himself) posts and corresponds on their BBS and they release product with the fan's best intentions in mind. UK b-sides not available in the States have just been gathered and released as a digital download a couple weeks ago. Just because Murphy is a bigger guy doesn't mean that he is some jock that will bully you into dancing. That just sounds ridiculous.
Educate yourself you clown...

i'm so glad i'm not the only person who thinks that people who don't get lcd/dfa are mentally retarded.
they're not the end all be all, but they're talented and fun and the haters obviously hate fun. they're the kinds of people who buy 5th row tickets to a show and get pissed when people stand up (forget about dancing!) in front of them.
Posted by Anonymous | October 4, 2007 10:32 AM
PD- I do know exactly why you used that word. If you had used it to mean "homosexual" as in "pitchfork is so homosexual", that would probably be incorrect, but not really offensive. At least not to me, as a gay person. But using "gay" as a synonym for "lame" does offend me. Because you're equating my sexual orientation with lameness. Get it?
Posted by Anonymous | October 4, 2007 10:48 AM
The internet is serious business. Take it as such.
Anyway...
The Arcade Fire is definitely in my list of top five bands of all time. I look forward to a hopeful remix of Neon Bible :D
Posted by Alex | October 4, 2007 12:30 PM
they'll be announcing their new album, in rainbows
Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2007 11:57 AM
Whatever it is, you can find out in person on the cheap. CL awash in below-price AF tickets for the Randall's Island show. After market ticket sales go both ways - and it's a buyers market for this show.
Posted by drewo | October 5, 2007 12:38 PM
i hope its not a remix. i hope its something better than that. but its probably just a remix. the beonlineb site says october 6th 11 times. 11 tracks on neon bible. beonlineb = neon bible.
