Bruce SpringsteenBruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play Nassau Colliseum in Uniondale, NY on March 10, 2008. Add that on to the other recently announced tour dates. Tickets go on sale January 19th @ 10am.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing Showtime which kind of makes sense since I always just assumed that Showtime must have paid them already to name their show "Californication". The Times of South Africa says that, like Bruce Springsteen's Magic, Californication was the Chili Peppers' big comeback album. Are they still back? I don't know.

Velvet Revolver were denied visas by Japan because "Japanese immigration officials appear to have taken exception to the backgrounds of various band members...." In related news, Scott Weiland is going to write a book just like Slash did. And speaking of Slash, he's holding a competition for guitar players.

re Californication: You can't copyright a title! They don't have a case.

Yeah if I wanted to I could publish a book called Catcher in the Rye all about Jorge Posada getting turned into a sandwich at Katz's Deli.

P.S. Fuck Springsteen.

californication is a fairly well-used term, refering to californians moving to oregon or mexico or where ever, and turning it into a little expensive california. i think RHCP named their record after it was in general use.

The Boss at the Mausoleum... that's "keepin' it real", as as you kids say.

Bruce @ MSG was better than any concert I've been to this year. And yes, I've been to quite a few. You haters are missing out.

i'm pretty sure that RCHP is not suing over copyright infringement, but over unfair competition, and unjust enrichment. But if it isn't about copyrighted material, then I have no idea how they'll be able to make their case. this basically sounds like the definition of a frivolous lawsuit.

How about Anthony Kiedis claiming that "Californication" is the band's singular defining album? Isn't that a slap in the face to all your fans prior to 1999?

To be fair to Keidis, their other albums suck. Greatest Hits compilation band if there was ever one.

Also, they have some balls, considering Mike Patton was robbed of that album title for the last Mr. Bungle album because of label politics.

WOAH CHILI PEPPERS rock bruce springsteen makes the same exact song over again for 30 years its stupid and patton sucks he just claims that

I can hate on Bruce ever so easily. Too easily, really.

How exactly is Magic a comeback album for Bruce? It's a great record, but The Rising only came out in 2002 and that record debuted at number #1, has gone double platinum, and was supported by an absolutely monster tour that lasted over a year. If you're going to call any of his records a "comeback" album The Rising would be it.

Ah fuck who cares, both records kick ass and that's all that matters. People who hate on Bruce might as well be hating on The Beatles or Bob Dylan as far as I'm concerned. Although I'm sure there are plenty of indie kids who think The Beatles and Dylan suck too.

Hey RHCP FOR LIFE - how old are you, 12?

If there was ever a band who has made the same song over and over it would be RCHP. They peaked with Mothers Milk and have been on a steady (sell out)decline ever since.

Bruce Springsteen has more talent and integrity than most people in the music business. If some of you would actually take the time and listen to his records you may agree. As for his comeback. Huh? He never went away.

I'm not the biggest RHCP fan, but I think By The Way is by far their best album. I could take or leave most of their other albums and singles...but there is something about this album that just fucking kills. Near the top of my fav list.

"re Californication: You can't copyright a title! They don't have a case."

I am not a lawyer, but for what it's worth, I suppose the lawsuit claims it's more than just a title, it's a brand, or something.
