Cadence Weapon, Final Fantasy, Bowery Ballroom..... Destroyer

Cadence Weapon was just on tour with Final Fantasy. They played Bowery Ballroom in NYC last night....

Owen was good as usual. The opening act was weird, weird, weird. The second act was Cadence Weapon, a rapper, but he was actually pretty enjoyable. Owen came out and did one song with him and it was really good. Then Cadence Weapon came out for one song of Owen's set and that was ok.

Owen finished with the Mariah Carrey Cover, as usual.

One of the songs they do together is a Destroyer cover, but at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin earlier this month, it became more like a collaboration....

Final Fantasy and Cadence Weapon also drew some Sea Monsters.

Dan Bejar (Destroyer)'s new project is called Hello, Blue Roses.

Cat Power also played Fun Fun Fun Fest.

Er, in future, I wouldn't mind being asked if it's ok to quote my LJ. I mean, obviously it's perfectly legal to quote without asking permission, but if I knew I might be quoted in a blog as popular and cool as this one, I'd have tried to write a decent entry rather than the crap one I threw together when I was falling asleep. Alas.

But yeah, it was a fun little show.
