Can't wait until the Philly show on Saturday night!!!

What a great show. I really didn't expect it to be a 50-50 of KD and BSS songs. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of 'Spirit If..' and it was a really pleasant suprise to hear so many BSS songs. Especially enjoyed the clothes-monster 'Major Label Debut', and the fact that Kevin actually took the time to get everything back to the right people, including the guy who lost his shoe.

Certainly a highlight of my concert based 2007.

Poor Spiral's gotta rock the hat to ocver up the chrome dome....

fuckin' amazing show.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 2:34 PM

jeezus. is everyone here that concerned with weight and hair issues, rather than a dude from pavement and a dude from BSS rocked together? in my book, it's freaking awesome, but i don't hang out with perez hilton.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 2:39 PM

Yes, that was fucking amazing. They rocked me such that I am scrapping my plans to see Travis Morrison tonight, bc there is simply no way to follow that up. It wouldn't be enjoyable. Nice mix of BSS and Spirit If songs. Really, really incredible show. Emily Haines singing "Anthems" was one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

ami i the only one who thinks it's a rip off that they're selling this tour as BSS? .. even if half the set is BSS songs .. It's Kevin Drew, the album shouldnt be called BSS presents.. either

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 3:28 PM

i saw BSS at the last show of their tour in Ann Arbor last year and they played for over 2 hours that night. at one point Kevin Drew had to ask an audience member what time it was only to respond "shit we were supposed to be done 1/2 an hour ago"....then went on to keep playing...

Posted by whitemike | November 15, 2007 3:34 PM

how about we let a founding member of BSS decide what can and cannot be labeled as the band he founded instead of someone on an internet message board, shall we?

Posted by d | November 15, 2007 3:36 PM

who the fuck cares what it is called. they rock.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 3:40 PM

it was made with BSS members. the 4 main ones at that...

Hands down the best show of the year. Metric guys were awesome, James Shaw played good guitar/trumpet not to mention Emily Haines (didn't actually expect her to show). Incredible sounding set up they had.. just layers upon layers of multi-instrumental parts. Loved the singalong at the end. Invigorating show it was: very rare for me to come to the show after work all tired & hungry but leave the show feeling energized.

Really doesn't matter to me, but I also think it's fine that "Spirit If.." is "Presented" by BSS. I don't know if you guys read the liner notes, but Spirit If actually has a lot of BSS members' input.

Yeah, great show, but too long for this old man. Liked when Drew put on all those clothes, though.

More pics, etc:

FUCK i should've gone.

the frat girls who had like two beers in them screaming for andrew kenny (much as i love him) should never go to a rock show again. but kudos to the tall guy who screamed "ALEEEEX!!! ALEXXX!" (alex may or may not have existed) and then proceeded to make his way through the crowd with such gentlemanly gems as "you understand my position" and "feist isn't coming tonight."

i was skeptical about what they were billing it as also, but if you get fucking spiral stairs to play kennel district and emily haines to sing anthems for a seventeen year old girl, you can call it whatever you want. plus, if you're too dense to wonder "hey, what is this 'spirit if' thing?" and realize they're playing a lot of his solo stuff (which is pretty good on its own, btw) you deserve to get your money taken. great fucking show and i'm glad i decided to go at the last minute.

"ami i the only one who thinks it's a rip off that they're selling this tour as BSS? ."

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 4:36 PM

i thought it was horrible.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 5:30 PM

Well, to me Kevin Drew is not even close to sounding like a BSS album .. yeah it's his band, he sings most of the most if not all of them but something's missing .. not BSS

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2007 7:55 PM

Frightening Lives and Gang Bang Suicide are pretty good chunes.

Posted by drewo | November 15, 2007 9:29 PM

Sadly, I think if Emily Haines and Scott Kannenberg didn't show I would have thought that the show wasn't that spectacular. This is the third BSS show I've been to (if you want to call it a BSS show) and it seems that they are gradually losing their passion. Or, am I just gradually losing my interest?

Posted by Kristy | November 16, 2007 11:54 AM

worst show ive ever seen in my entire life. ever.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2007 2:31 PM

so the sing along was kind of stupid and brendan always looks out of place with his cock rock poses, but i don't see what made you people hate it so much.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2007 5:53 PM

great show- if you didn't like it than maybe they aren't the band for you but 2.5 hours flew by for me and i'd go again.

thanks kevin!

Like Emily Haines more than anyone from the artists and can say that show was awesome!
