Kanye West cries during Hey Mama in France (video)

"Kanye West broke into tears last night while attempting to perform the song 'Hey Mama' at a concert in Paris." ....

West left the stage, but eventually returned to perform the song "Stronger" with the audience yelling out their support. He is expected to return to the U.S. for his mother's funeral, taking place on Tuesday in Oklahoma City."[TMZ]

If there's ever a time to cancel some shows it'd be because someone close to you has died. Why is he still doing shows? Hummm

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2007 8:12 AM

i hope he takes his time and get through this.
that being said, i can't wait for him to announce a full US graduation tour.

i always hated this guy but fuck...his mom dies and he plays a show? what a fucking nut.

I'm not a Kanye fan, but people deal with tragedy in different ways - maybe he thought it would be easier to go on as if everything was normal.

Posted by MD | November 19, 2007 10:22 AM

I'm pretty sure he cares more about money and himself than he ever did about his mother.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2007 10:51 AM

3/5 of you are complete assholes.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2007 11:50 AM

performing in and of itself is a very emotional thing. he probably thought he was strong enough to handle the pain he was in and the adrenaline probably knocked him off base.
i think it was awesome that he tried to go on and fulfill his obligations.

For real dudes... it's one thing to be a cynical New Yorker, but it's an entirely other thing to be a self righteous retarded asshole. Some of the commenters today (i.e. this post and O'Death) should maybe look in a mirror and ask which category they fall in... just sayin.

seriously what a bunch of fucking assholes. i hope your mothers die.

To MD, Before you say I'm pretty sure he cares more about money and himself than he ever did about his mother. Take the time and be sure because Kanye loved his mom more than life itself...those two shared a bond that only witnessed could you truly understand so before you make assumptions, read the facts! How dare you say something like that about someone's mom! Regardless, if you are a kanye fan or not, that is still his mom, who he cared for dearly...Just take the time and read his Hey Mama lyrics...that man loved his mom and death isn't just something you get over...he's just trying to find his way through this....

Some people are so f***ed up!
Because they bought a cd or watched a video, they feel that they can judge if he loved his mother or not.
HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS MOTHER IS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS.
Get a life, it's not even funny to be that stupid.

i don't feel it's fair to judge whether he loved his mother, but i don't see a problem with questioning why he is doing shows. especially if he is visibly breaking down on stage. there's a point when you must put work aside and focus on family issues. i think that time is now for kanye. but again, i'm an outsider in the situation.

It is my humble opinion that any further conversation about Mr. West's relationship with his mother and/or his actions after her untimely passing be replaced with words of encouragement for him and those around him. This is a hard enough time without people questioning everything he is doing or will do. He'll handle it the best way he knows how; just as an other human would do. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as well as with you and yours. Some of you need them more than Mr. West. Perhaps it will teach you humility, grace and understanding rather than judgement and persecution despite your ignorance about his personal situation.

Kanye keep your head up and do what your doing. I am not claiming I know what your Mum thinks but I am sure she would have wanted you to cope the way you are dealing with it now. People should learn by this, you should not hide away after a loved one has passed, you should celebrate their life and show them what they rared. Much respect Kanye.

Looking forward to the gig in Belfast, the crowd will be right behind you.

Kanye West sucks.
"Hip Hop" sucks.
It's over, people.
Seriously.

Bummer about his mother's inability to pick a more qualified surgeon to help her with her vanity, though.

Dublin's behind ya!

okay not everyone can just sit at home thinking of their loved ones. i wouldnt be able to that. i mean eventually you are going to have to be strong, just like his song STRONGER! why does everyone have to talk trash?? all kanye needs is support from his fans!

Posted by karissa | November 22, 2007 1:19 AM

hey you lot shut up. yes i said it shut up. why are you guys talking about this? i just typed in Kanye West and this came on. If you dont like the guy then get off the website. Because Kanye did love his mum. if you dnt believe me listen 2 his world famous song Hey Mama. He wants to scream so loud for her cos he's so proud of her. Kanye has no doubt taught us something. Appreciate ur mother, father, sister, brother or anyone because they will not be there for ever. Kanye im deeply sorry about ur loss. if u wnt me just call 02086569106 and ask for Javed. Kanye i love you. May ur Mama rest in Peace.

Wake up people! I just saw kayne perform (Miserably) on the grammys. You got to be kidding me?!!
He cannot sing, his rap lyrics are ridiculously laughable, and he's got the biggest ego on the planet. Ask yourself, "Why does he need all the "PROPS" around him if his music is so good.?

I'm sorry his mom died, but to go on and on. I feel like he's using it to benefit his career. I didn't feel anything genuine coming from this guy at all.
His music his beats are BORING He's BORING I don't get why he's so big. I miss the old school rap hip hop
